Math Homework

Re: Math Homework

equation is

y=1.43x-2.4

Re: Math Homework

Insan ,your the bestest. Sachi bestest ever.

Thank you both lots and lots.

Re: Math Homework

belle baji no thanks

pls if u can make sure from some pls do so as i said coz ia m working on my hw thats why mind not working properly but i think this the way it works :)

Re: Math Homework

Ok allow me to live upto my nick :-b

Does it have to be a rectangular space? For maximum area, the dimensions are x=80 , y=80 ; which is a square.

Here's how it works.

Fencing = Perimeter of the rectangle = 2* (x+y) =320

x+y = 160

y=160-x

now area , A = x*y = x*(160-x) =160x-x^2

Differentiating with respect to x and setting it to zero (condition for maximum)

160-2x=0
x=80.
y=160-80=80

The maximum area = 80*80=6400 sq ft
and if you have to make it a rectangle, where x>y
then go for 81 by 79 = do the math

the function is y= 1/(x-2)

where at x=2, y goes to infinity (vertical asymptote, i .e. y goes to infinity)

and as x approaches infinity : y goes to zero (horizontal asymptote, i.e . x->infinity)
you have been helped.

Re: Math Homework

geek, how sure are you about the first prob babe?

Thank you much!

Re: Math Homework

Pretty sure.

But then again, I was pretty sure about the Ohio State Buckeyes winning the game tonight too.

Re: Math Homework

x=0 n y=2 this is perfectly well it defines the rectangle in xy plane
