Re: Massacre at Qana
Israel has a right to defend herself, a right to counterattack against Hezbollah and Hamas, a right to clean out bases from which Katyusha or Qassam rockets are being fired, and a right to occupy land from which attacks are mounted on her people.
But what Israel is doing is imposing deliberate suffering on civilians, collective punishment on innocent people, to force them to do something they are powerless to do: disarm the gunmen among them. Such a policy violates international law and comports neither with jewish or american values.
I am pro-Israeli as they come but even I am appalled at this.
Israel should completely halt its bombing campaign and negotiate a cease fire.
Israel's objective was not to release the captured soldier but to punish Hezbollah enough so that they will never do such a thing and that has been proven.
Its time to end this senseless violence
Already, Bush is ranting about Syria being behind the Hezbollah capture of the Israeli soldiers. But where is the proof?
Who is whispering in his ear? The same people who told him Iraq was maybe months away from an atom bomb, that an invasion would be a "cakewalk," that he would be Churchill, that U.S. troops would be greeted with candy and flowers, that democracy would break out across the region, that Palestinians and Israelis would then sit down and make peace?
How much must America pay for the education of this man?
Re: Massacre at Qana
This is a war and at least two parties (if not more) are involved in it. You can't reach conclusions by looking at just one party.
For every incident, look at Israelies (that you are doing) and look at Hizbiz (that you refuse to do) and then reach a conclusion.
Off course that will be a "logical" thinking that is so absent in Afro-Arab regions.
Skirting around the main issue to justify barbaric killings is something you seem to have learned well from the western media.
As for evidence really it should be you who should be providing irrefutable evidence of big guns and destroyed rocket launchers form the rubbles of this house to prove to the world that Israel was only trying to destroy those guns. Can you? Of course not? All you can do is skirt around the issue. Post a picture here of a destroyed rocket launcher in the rubble of the house, I challenge you.
if you can't condemn them just say so, no one here will be surprised.

May be it is my ghost scaring you.

Re: Massacre at Qana
this is just too sad...israel really doesnt give a **** about innocent lives...they are the biggest terrorits in the world
Re: Massacre at Qana
Fouad Siniora, Prime Minister of Lebanon- "The persistence of Israel in its heinous crimes against our civilians will not break the will of the Lebanese people."
JORDAN'S KING ABDULLAH: "This criminal aggression is an ugly crime that has been committed by the Israeli forces in the city of Qana that is a gross violation of all international statutes."
HEZBOLLAH STATEMENT: "This horrific massacre (at Qana) will not go without a response."
EU FOREIGN POLICY CHIEF JAVIER SOLANA: "I have talked to the Prime Minister of Lebanon ... I have expressed to him my profound dismay and deep sorrow at the attack and the death of innocent civilians in Qana. Nothing can justify that.
SENIOR HAMAS LEGISLATOR MUSHIR AL-MASRI: "In the face of this open war against the Arab and Muslim nations all options are open, including striking the depth of the Zionist entity."
IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESMAN HAMID REZA ASEFI: "The Qana bombing is the outcome of (US Secretary State Condoleezza) Rice's trip to the region. Some American officials should be put on trial for the crimes in Lebanon."
ARAB LEAGUE SECRETARY-GENERAL AMR MOUSSA: "The attacks that Israeli forces are launching targeting civilians and the Lebanese infrastructure are another confirmation of Israeli aggressive intentions."
Will any of this stop the next "accident" or "massacre"?
No!
No condemnation or slogans will bring back the dead kids. The only thing that will save Lebanon in particular and the region in general is just one. Be nice to each other. Quit pushing the other guy from his home. Because he may come back and push you out of your home.
peace
Re: Massacre at Qana
The world has failed Lebanon just like it failed the Palestinians. Shame on the whole world!
Re: Massacre at Qana
I stopped watchin news a week ago ..its too disturbing but again today :( wth how many more they gonna kill :(
Re: Massacre at Qana
U.S. still clinging to "... but Israel has a right to defend itself."
Ms. Rice said she was “deeply saddened by the terrible loss of innocent life” in Israel's attack. But she did not call for an immediate cease-fire in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah militias.
Re: Massacre at Qana
How about Lebanon failed itself Or
Palestinian failed themselves.
If it was first time, we could have said that Lebanese got cought unprepared. But this conflict is going on for the last 20 years. So there must be a responsibility placed on Lebanese and especially Hizbiz shoulders.
Re: Massacre at Qana
Antiobl, according to your logic if I were your neighbor and your kid walked over to my lawn and punched my kid, I would have the right to break into your house and do what ever I wished. Too sad, this is not how conflicts are resolved.
Re: Massacre at Qana
Well it is more like this.
Scene #1 ---
Your 30 years old brother lives with you. He starts stealing stuff from my yard.
I tell you to control your brother, and you refuse.
Your brother escalates it by throwing rocks into my house. We fight, and other people come in to set up a truce. You promise you'd control your brother.
Scene #2 ----
3 months later, you brother again steals and throws rocks. We fight again. Then truce with your promise that you'd stop your brother.
Scene #3 ---
another 3 months and your brother is at it again. This time I break your brother's arms so he won't throw things on to my house. Then truce with your promise that you'd do somthing about your brothers $tupid behavior.
Scene #4 ---
Another 3 months, your brother steals from my house, then throws rocks at me, injuring my family members. This time I am angry and I am giving a beating and your brother is bleading from his nose.
Now you come over and ask for truce. Well bud! This time you are not going to get it quickly. Because you failed so many times in keeping your promises.
Re: Massacre at Qana
^ Shame really, unable to provide the evidence from the rubble of the house and unable to bring yourself to condmn this barbaric attack you are now resorting to skirting around the issue once again and posting long winded posts of nothing. You are no better than the mullahs you so like to denounce.
Re: Massacre at Qana
Get your facts straight. Is it really your yard?

Well, antiobl, that makes you an irresponsible citizen since you have taken law in your own hands. You should have called the cops the first time. Imagine if this is how we started resolving our conflicts the world be an even uglier place. That's why we have UN.
P.S Only last night my brother called 911 because there was a mexican guy lying only a few steps from our apartment. He was bleeding. His white cotton shirt almost turned red with blood. He said two black guys beat him. See that's how gangs fight, they don't want the cops getting involved. They take matters in their own hands and that's why they are irresponsible.

It seems that antiobl is a zionist man masquarading as a muslim. This conflict is not going on for 20 years but more then 60 years. There was no Hizb or Hamas there when the conflict began. Hizb and Hamas are the by product of zionist policies growing out of local people who will not take the suffering ANY MORE. Get your facts right.
We all know Hizb captured 2 soldiers. You know why they did that, because Israel as an occupying force till year 2000 has thousands of thousands Lebanese prisoners of war taken without any trial and languishing in Isreal jail for more then 10 years. Thats reminds me of Gitmo don't you agree? Even American Supereme Court has just said that there is no way Bush can go for military tribunals. Anyway to come to the issue at hand is that Hizb wants to exchange prisoners for prisoners.
And I mean zionist dude, even if Hizb got two soldiers don't you think killing 500 civilians mostly children and women and 500,000 uprooted and displaced with the Isreal bombardment is proportionate for you? Isreal will kill 4 million of Lebanese populace if the bombing doesn't not stop now. For what, because Bush thinks that a armageddon is coming and let Isreal will play with Arab lives again and again.
I am not concerned of people like antibol, but what concerns me is with our leaders. To be silent is to make way for the oppressor. To be silent means that we don't give a damn about our own lives. We give Islam a bad name if we choose to live in under this humiliation and tyranny. If Bush wants to find armaggedon than lets give to him.
Re: Massacre at Qana
I guess this was justified as a 'pre-emptive strike' against 'future terrorists'
