I learned from the dermatologist that there is a difference between a spot and a scar and most people make the mistake of interchanging them. A spot is a daagh…and the dark ones are made up of several layers of skin…in which case it’s best to go to a dermatologist who will give you medicine that can penetrate those layers and lighten the spots.
A scar, on the other hand is a hole/or pits in the skin. It tends to be more permanent and although laser can help resurface the scars and reduce their appearance…it’s tough to get rid of them completely. That’s why they say don’t pick at your pimples…it can lead to the development of scars. Here is what a scar looks like:
