its in Defence in y block.lahore
its defence y block, u have to book an app to see bridals, the one near mm alam rd is only a casual and formal studio. the y block one has everything, best of luck.
dress will not be ready in two weeks no way - u have a prototype fitting before ur lengha goes to get made properly, so u have to go to the studio a few times for the fittings. mine too 4 weeks in total as i had numerous alterations.
Maria B
hey anybody has an experiene wth her? how do u like her clothes in general? ok so i went to her bridal shop in defense. it mostly has lengas and stuff.. and i dont really like maria B . i actually wanted to go to karma but it was closed. they close down at like 6 30i got to know (very weird for pakistanbut anyway) so i went there. and i was quite surprised . they had some really nice clothes . nice colors . and also like heavy. they were very karma-ish like pearl work and mota kaam. and the price for bridal wear was around 1.8 to 2, the ones i asked for.
so anyway i was just wondering. have u guys seen her new line .. how do u like it?
excellent customer service & very beautiful lehnga!!!
I have bought a lot of items over the years from Maria B but stopped buying from her in August 2007. At one store (and if anyone wants to know which store - just PM me) I experienced a lot of probs'. Those arrogant sales assistant don't help either!
I ordered so many pieces from her store, some on behalf of my cousins and sisters and I told them clearly, written too on recipe that the clothes were not to be rushed and the embroidery should be very neat. After all I was paying a lot of money for them. After 8 months I collected the outfits. They were appalling! The shalwar materials were of cheap quality and one outfits shalwar was so rough it felt like sand paper!! On some of the outfits they changed the designs entirely. The colour shades were different. When I asked why they choose that red colour shade for the kameez instead of the ruby red I asked for, the assistant confidently said, "…we though **that* shade of red would look better!" *Which it didn't!
Overall the clothes looked completely rushed and they didn't use the correct measurements I gave them. I asked for a fish-tail lenga on one outfit and instead they made a normal lenga! That would take time to fix and all the extra work done on the outfits would be wasted! Worst was the messy embroidery on the outfits! When the sales assistant lifted one of my suits out from the boxes, I could see beads falling out. When I pointed that out to her, she said*, "…oh I'll give you some spare beads and sequins!" *I asked to get all the clothes fixed and sewn to the measurements I had given etc and the sales assistant, who seemed bored rigid, told me that it would take another three months! She was very unprofessional. When I asked why they would take so long she replied that all the clothes get sent to India. I asked for a refund on my advance payment. She simply shook her head and which was the final straw for me!
I called the store manager who knew me as a regular customer, after a very heated discussion they refunded me the advance payment I had given. Went into better stores afterwards and bought awesome ready-made clothes for everyone! Should have done that before! Hehe!
There was once a time when her designs completely stood out and her excellent customer services but not anymore. There are much better designers out there than Maria B.
oh iggle thats a pretty bad experience.. and i think maria B has that sort of a repulation which is why i never really considered her as place to get anything made from. but i was surprised when i saw some nice piecess there.. but really everything was basically quite old. nothing new. i liked the fact that she had done white with red . it was a little different. and she was copying karma's style a LOT. but she had a really pretty peshwaz with a very heavy duppatta. i was considering that in red.
today i went to karma.. it was really nice. they had two new designs apart from the old ones tht i had already seen. one was in red and gold , that wasnt all that old maybe like 4 5 months .. it had gold aplique per kaam, the other one was a sharara with an empire line shirt .. loved THAT one. but its more than what i am looknig to spend and i dont think its in any magazine yet, for it to get copied..hmm btw the sales girl was huma.. very nice she was.
Re: Maria B
silsila got an AMAZING jora from her
Re: Maria B
i never had any probs with Maria B, they were very helpful and happy to negotiate on price for my lengha. i got some formals from there also - which she didn't haggle (my mum loves a good deal) but I was happy with them. I saw a lovely mehndi jora from HH but it was near 40,000 rupees! Maria B had one for 18000 so I went with that as it was kinda similar and within my budget. I shopped around and went to a few places and loved the bridal i chose as I wanted a contemporary look- i didnt go to her with a desire to buy a lengha - just a browse - but when u find the one thats all u can see!
she was good with measurements, I had 3 lengha fittings (one was a cotton sample) in 3 weeks to make sure the lengha fitted properly so that was nice of her. all my formals are in perfect condition with good detailed work.

Jee haan! This was 2 years ago and it was from her newest collection. You know the third-last posted above? The red and whitish one? That's the one she got and at that time it was her newest design. I personally don't like the fading into another color thing but jho bhi.
Re: Maria B. - Website, Outfits, Reviews

I really like Maria B's newest collection in her bridal line. Has anyone seen it in person?
Re: Maria B. - Website, Outfits, Reviews
Yeah! I saw that shoot and loved it, my friend is one of the mdels in the back. And I saw someone wearing one f the designs as an engagement outfit on here. She had it turned very short and worn with a churidaar.

^That's great! Do you have any idea about the price of the outfit?
