Just curious how did you transition from energy efficiency in to home mortgages ? is this side business or second career ?

I was trying to help this young Pakistani girl get established in the mortgage business and I asked her to come sit in our showhomes on the weekend. She seems very hungry for business and a hard worker but was extremely socially awkward and very unprofessional and kind of lacked in knowledge of appropriate behavior. She would talk really loud, really fast and talk a lot. She would interrupt people and not let them finish their sentences, if someone had an objection or concern she would not handle it in a calm way and get excited. She was always distracted by family drama and talking excitedly in Urdu with her family where clients would give us the looks. Although I really wanted to help her but it wont be appropriate to allow her to sit in our show homes.

Oh and without being solicited she started talking about her rishtas, and the rishta dates and halal haram stuff. People should not divulge personal stuff and faith and halal haram stuff at work. Kristy just looked at her in bewilderment when she got all personal and divulging highly personal stuff. She is educated here and should know better.

Yesterday I went to eat at an Indian Buffet place and the server had really unpleasant facial expressions, I think some of these girls think that smiling makes them appear non shareef and they should portray sternness to discourage any unwelcome advances. They don’t realize in Canada all people care about is service with a smile and hardly anyone would be interested in her. I used to love going to that place but this left a bad taste in my mouth.

So what has your experience been with manners, good and bad? Do share some stories. How much lack of etiquettes are you willing to put up with.
