wow he is amazing!! He is doing good with the velvet and lace. I want to buy half of them!
I remember anarkali being back in fashion in 2007 when saawariya came out. I remember because I got my first anarkali from an indian store but at that time it was more of a less frocky style of anarkali. It had not been so popular since people were getting used to it. Today I see different versions of anarkali but not strickly anarkali cuts. I also remember rani mukerji had a green anarkali which was bueatiful but can't remember the movie =/
so they dont make saris like a sari anymore ... but an a-line something with a dupatta draped around??? how the helll is the front appearing so freaking flat (the abs region)????
lol i think still they make regular sarees as well as "lehnga sarees" which are basically lehnga ensembles draped to look like sarees. they've been around for a whilee.
I like his designs. though they dont offer much variety (at least pictures dont show that versatility, may be in reality they look different) but still i wont call them wedding dresses. they look good for parties, mehndi, anniversaries, etc, but not bridal wedding dresses.
Not really he and other indian designers have been making these kinda clothing a yr before the pakistani designers picked up on the trends. remember the karishma and kareena outfits he made when they were on nach baliye? soon after all paki designers were adding ribbons to the bottom of outfits and what not. He started paneling with fabrics vertically and using splashes of colors that don’t look like they necessarily go with the outfit. like how maria b. had that one blue and green dress with the red dupatta, the whole color clash thing was started by indian designers. I think you justhave to keep an eye on both runways to see the trends and what not.
gorgeous. this would make a unique bridal. love the flouncy lengha. i’d be hard pressed to find a pakistani designer, apart from perhaps faiza samee, who makes me look twice like manish malhotra does. people assume he’s an overrated, tacky ‘bollywood’ designer but after seeing several of his HDIL & LFW collections, i’m sold. this man’s got the x factor. just when you think you’ve seen it all, he does it again. does anyone have any experience with his bridals? is there an indian version of gupshup? i wonder how much this one would cost.
