Actually no drama was possible in this case . She was not injured alone .
She was injured at a public place in presence of many others . She was shifted to three hospitals in Pakistan and than to a very famous hospital of UK . Impossible to hide any thing .

I think the media are exaggerating things here. Why are they always negative? Ofcourse health facilities (esp. post operative or after care) are better in England but **Pakistani military doctors are the ones who actually saved Malala’s life by removing the bullet in time from her head. **Luckily for her the bullet just grazed the surface of the brain but did not penetrate it.

Thank god she has regained consciousness but the girl is still very sick and barely able to communicate by writing at present. She has developed sepsis/infection which is probably related to bullet track. They are planning reconstructive surgery after 3-4 weeks once the infection has cleared up

Anyone question this incident will be labeled as taliban sympathesizer. Think why are there so many concipiracy theories about only this incident? Cant Kamra attack, Mehran base attack, and many other killings of people justify the decision of wazirstan operation? Had these taliban 'sympathesizers' been questioning same way about those incidents ? How many pak solidiers embraced shahadat and get this many tributes ?
While this one, anyone asks you for drone attacks, you assume he/she is trying to muddle the incident. Does this incident revoke the right of people to ask question about anything else?
If something is your belief that does not mean people are stopped questioning us.
Be ready to answer every kind of concipiracy theory.
Stoping the question should not be important, curiosity has its own reason for exisiting.

Alqaeda comes into the open now, trying to cover up TTP. What is secular education by the way? Interesting thing is that they are calling the issue as a drama, and on the other side reminding us to dig into the personality of the girl. Notice all the propaganda pictures that are being shared by our friend and family members in Pakistan, and the second last paragraph.

The statement specifically targets national and international media saying they have already lost authenticity and trust for “editing statements of Mujahideen to air on only certain parts and leveling false blames against them to gain benefits.”

**The website says it is necessary to dig out personality of Malala before answering any question that has emerged after the issue.

**“A Jewish filmmaker Edam B. Ellick stayed at Malala’s house during Swat operation in 2009,” the statement alleged and added that the teenage girl and her father met with US ambassador, state secretary and military officers urging them to clean the area from Taliban.

The injury

  • Malala was shot at point blank range
  • Bullet hit left brow - instead of penetrating skull it travelled underneath the skin, the whole length of side of head and into neck
  • Shock wave shattered thinnest bone of skull and fragments were driven into the brain
  • Soft tissues at base of jaw/neck damaged
  • Bullet carried on through, across top of shoulder and landed above the left shoulder blade
  • The surgery to remove the bullet was successful and she was moved to the intensive care unit
  • She was then reviewed and she was transferred by the military army to specialised military facilities in Rawalpindi
  • She stabilised and improved
  • Transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) on Monday 15 October due to their expertise in gunshot and blast injuries

Care at QEHB

  • Malala was not conscious on arrival; she was in a medically-induced coma
  • Her sedation was reduced by the clinical team in a controlled manner and she regained consciousness on Tuesday afternoon
  • She had some movement then and that has since strengthened
  • At University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) she was re-evaluated fully and a number of further injuries were identified: [LIST]
  • Injured left jawbone at its joint
  • Fracture of bone behind ear
  • Fracture of base of the skull

What is her condition now?

  • She is not on a ventilator; she has had a trachiostomy and is breathing through the tube in her neck
  • Can’t talk because of tube in throat but can communicate through writing
  • Understandably gets tired very easily
  • Aware of surroundings
  • Impact of brain injury, not been able to do full evaluation because brain is still swollen
  • She has movement of her arms and legs
  • She has stood with assistance from nurses
  • She is currently fighting an infection

Next steps in care

  • Needs time to recover and recuperate
  • She is still very ill
  • We need to get her strong enough to do reconstructive surgery
  • The skull bone will need to be replaced either with her own bone or with a titanium plate
  • Surgery weeks to months down the line
  • This is a fluid situation and she sustained a very, very grave injury. She’s not out of the woods yet, but we are hopeful she will make a good recovery

As miserable as life in Pakistan is these days, I think resorting to fantastical conspiracies is a psychological coping mechanism. Why does life suck? Why is there no water, no electricity or gas? Because the Universe is conspiring against us of course!
