Re: Making Yogurt

home made yogurt tastes so good, homemade ice cream is good too.

Re: Making Yogurt

we do make yogurt at home as well..almost the same way as some people already mentioned..what i have noticed is that..if you keep the mixture near a heated place like over the top of microwave and or fridge..it does get a nice texture. Another thing you can do to get the nice texture is pour milk and yogurt into a clay dish or a pot.

Re: Making Yogurt

So did u get anywhere with the yougurt making yet? My mother makes the best...she uses Homo milk. Troor of mine, adds in a bit of half 'n half....very creamy yougurt. Err u still need to know the basic instructions. I think my mother boils the milk first then puts it aside let it gain room temp....then ...ummm...I can ask her for the exact recipie, cuz last time I wanted to learn but so far I've only learned what I wrote above....cuz wasn't there when she added the 'mora' to the 'paii' :D and ofcourse I came again to ask her the next day when the 'mastaay' were just yummalicioushly ready to eat!!!

Re: Making Yogurt

i never tried making yogurt in the uk before!!

but back in pk it was easy 1 tablespoon yogurt in 1 pot of luke warm milk and cover with thick cloth overnight!

Re: Making Yogurt

Shahreen.. as u know we afghan ppl live on yogurt so my mom makes it every day .. :( (goshh it look like it is paneer, means so hard and tasty)
the only thing u should be careful is that the milk shouldnt be hot.. it should be warm like if u put ur finger in it.. u shouldnt burn urself...
and then put like a bowl of yogurt on it... then try not to mix it from the middle but from corners..
these are the tips i just asked my mom :)

Re: Making Yogurt

No no…Attai…not a bowl of yogurt girl! Half a tsp is what my mom recommends in the same temp milk u recommended in that big fat ice-cream bucket! Then cover it up with a towel and keep it in a warm place until the next day. Turns out just like Attia has said! :yummy:

-----cvabn-----

What are the other places in the house where we can store it overnight , otherwise I can always ask my sasso maa for it, :frowning:

Re: Making Yogurt

^ go ask ur sasoo ma.. and she will say "bayta ajao may ap ko aysee yogurat bana seekao gee that after eating it u will never be able to eat anything else" :D

Re: Making Yogurt

That’s the same kind of yoghurt I want to make Attia…and you’re absolutely right, we eat far too much of the stuff but it’s delicious.

Lazy - Tescos stuff just isn’t the same as home made yoghurt.

Re: Making Yogurt

Your fridge on the blink again? Or is that what you tell the old man, "it aint that I forgot to get the milk in and it's gone off, I'm making yoghurt!"

Re: Making Yogurt

That was only because you had set your pants on fire while you were boiling the milk for the yogurt. and you need a hair cut and put on some weight because from what I recall when I saw you, you were around 80 lbs.
