i know a lady here (in the US, near DC) who does really nice bridal make up for about $150. $500 is more than I would spend, I think.

$500 or around £250 is the going rate in UK, well in my area anyway

The Depilex i go to charges about 15,000 for the bridal package, which includes pedicure, manicure, massages, makeup, hairstyle, etc etc... that equals out to $250, and that's not bad at all...if Kanzah beauty charges $500 for hair, makeup, manicures, pedicures, massages, mehndi etc, then i think thas a fair price.. but $500 JUST for makeup is wayyyy too much $$/pounds/rupees

does anyone know anyone who got bridal makeup done from a cosmetic artist at a macy's/sephora or saks counter?? I would think they do a pretty good job no?

yeh exactly, i have asked nerly all the excennel bridal makeup women and they charge £200 + naveeda bloody charges £300!

For bridal perhaps its ok to charge250/300... but for parties its just too much..... I'd rather go to selfridges and get it all don for free :) (ok now getting ready for the sarcastic remarks).

My friend had her walima makeup done by someone at YSL. It was minimal, looked good but didn't last the whole day...

A lot of brides I know went to various MAC counters. The makeup was not nice at all. Seriously, I think if you can find a good desi makeup artist and go for a trial run so you can let her know what you expect, it's worth the extra price. When makeup is free, you get what you pay for.
