i dont use foundation anymore, recently bought Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer. It takes me 10 mins to apply sunscreen and the tinted moisturizer..a couple of mins to do eye makeup (Lorac color me couture palette, givenchy eye fly mascara)...and fill in the brows...apply dior skinflash to brighten up the eyes. (stoppit you made me cave :) ) a little sisley's transparent loose powder..and i am out.
for special events...i add liner, and a stronger pigmented shadow.
hehe.. yay! i love dior skinflash (as everyone probably knows).
i'm tempted to write my routine now.
first I moisturise which for some reason takes me about 5mins.
then i do my eye base (first a liquid concealer below, topped with skinflash. mac paint on the lid and browbone with some UDPP in the crease to stop creasing).
then i put some pot concealer on the sides of my nose that are always reddish.
then i apply a very thin veil of mac full coverage on my cheeks and chin, just to even out the tone as i don't really need coverage any more (probably don't need foundation either but it's a habit).
then pressed powder all over my face.
then a light buff of mac skinfish on cheeks, followed by a light buff of bronzer and then blush.
then mac wishful on my lids and phloof on my browbone.
mac fluidline eyeliner with a small flick. then lastly mascara.
that's my everyday makeup. it lasts me all day and even through the gym, so i look presentable on the train home too :p
special events is much more in the way of eyemakeup and obviously, lipstick.

You forgot to say how it looks flawless.
I couldnt even tell you were wearing any make ups (apart from the fluidline and mascara), felt cheated.

Thank god I read this! :D I was torn between this and Touche Eclat but I was leaning towards Touche Eclat. So, which shade do you use in the skinflash and is it good for brightening up dark circles because mine are driving me insane atm.
About how long I spend on my makeup, I hate hate hate rushing in the morning and I prefer to take my time...if that means I have to wake up a lil earlier then so be it. I know, weird. :p
I probably take 20 mins to half an hour including cleansing. After I cleanse I spritz on some rose water, when that's dry I apply my moisturiser. After that's sunk in I apply my face primer then I do my eye makeup. I always use UDPP all over the lid and right up to the browbone and if I can be bothered I'll follow that up with Soft Ochre paint pot. Then I sweep on an all over lid colour....nearly always Jest or Naked Lunch and my browbone highlighter is Shroom or Vanilla. Then I apply my eyeliner and mascara. I conceal my dark circles (the bane of my life) and dust loose powder all over my face. Then I apply lipstick or lipgloss (this changes daily) Voila. All done.
Generally, I don't care for contouring, bronzing, highlighting or applying blush unless it's a special occasion but recently I've been ditching the eyeliner and I've been applying blush as I like colour on my cheeks in the summer.
Our routines are so similar Syraa! I tone with Rose water or Witch Hazel water after coming out of the shower, then I do my hair whilst waiting for it to dry and my skin to settle.
I used to use Shroom as my browbone highlighter too :p
I much prefer Skinflash, I use II Candlelight. I think it's best on top of a liquid concealer, it reflects the light and makes the area look so much brighter. I get a shock when I take my makeup off at night coz it becomes apparent how tired I really am! I much prefer the shades and the consistency to Touch Eclat. I sometimes use it to highlight my upper lip for a more pouty effect as well. If there's only one thing I put on (i.e. on the weekends), it's Skinflash.
Stoppit! You really are my GS kindred spirit! From Christian Bale all the way down to rose water and everything in between!
Thanks for that, I really like the sound of Skinflash. I’ll trust your judgment and scrap getting Touche Eclat, can’t wait to get my hands on Skinflash now!
I spend about 15-20 minutes on my everyday makeup.
I use apricot scrub first and then moisturize (Olay daily defense with spf 3o). I usually straighten my hair while I let that sit in. I use neutrogena concealer for my dark circles and then I prime my face with Smashbox photobox primer. I found that if i used primer first, the concealer wouldnt stick as well. I use bareminerals makeup - takes like 1 minute and is so light on the face. I love it. Recently bought this smashbox eyeshadow palette and its amazing: It’s on sale at sephora for only $6 from $30!! I use the darker shade to fill in my brows, the medium tan shade on my lid and the lightest shade underneath my brow bone. Lately Iv been going without eyeliner. A couple coats of diorshow is dramatic enough. Quick sweep of a peachy blush (este lauder) and a swipe of lipgloss (color and brand depends on the day) …and im on my way.
For special occasions, I switch the bare minerals to my NARS sheer glow liquid foundation. Contour my eyes with shades that compliment my outfit, contour my cheeks with bronzer + blush and use lipstick as well. oh - and LINER IS A MUST
special occasions… i spend as much time as I have … lol.
Putting on makeup is fun for me… not a chore… so I don’t like rushing through it.
