Actually that is not true. I’m not sure where have you been, but Taliban banned internet in Afghanistan when they ruled the country back in late 1990s. They have been bombing CD/DVD shops all over Pakistan including Islamabad. I remember when Lal Masjid jihadis were attacking cds shops Islamabad. So, this is not some unknown blogs reporting it, but pretty well known Taliban policy.
