^ They are halal, the packaging doesn't mention if it contains gelatin so I would assume it's okay to eat them

^ But just because it doesn't say 'gelatine' on it does not automatically render a product halal. I don't have a packet in front of me at the moment, but as far as I am aware they contain E120 in the shell which is not halal. It is a food colour that is made from crushed beetles.

FYI...none of the packets mention "suitable for veggies" . A rep i spoke to told me " if it doesnt say it on the packet..assume its not suitable for veggies".......
Looks like the M&M ride may be over!!!! (and i havent even tried the " crisp" ones yet !!!!! :(

The summary is -
3.3) The rennet obtained from an animal slaughtered by a non-Muslim or Muslim in accordance with Islamic law or contrary to it, is in all cases Ja’iz as long as the animal in question is not a pig. This is the opinion of Imaam Abu Hanifah. According to the Saahibayn it is Impure.
- Whey comes under the same rule as rennet because it is a by-product.

m&m's are halal and so are skittles in the uk (the peanut m and m anyway) just check in the ingredients for gelatine or e471

Oh so fruit skittles are halal? Yay!
The m&ms, on that list they are haraam cos they have alcohol flavourings in it, but recently on an islami tv channel, one imam said that it was ok to eat such things because the content is not enough to make one intoxicated..he said that other imams supported this view too. Shrug.
