Well, such things happen all over the world. So should we launch an international operation?
Lyari is targeted because amount of such criminal activities emanating from there is extra-ordinary. We should not even have to try to prove how much trouble Lyari gangs have caused after Mirza’s distribution of weapons among them.
I don’t think the intention was to punish the ordinary people of Lyari. It is just that the police had no idea how much sophisticated weapons those gangs had stock-piled. This is why this operation went for so long that ordinary people started suffering. The operation was stopped only because ordinary people could be provided relief.
