I wonder if they actually have copies of the latest hollywood magaizine, cut out their favourite pic, take it to their favourite makeup artist and say "I want to look like her today". Damn, from dresses, to hair styles, Pakistani Artists don't have anything original. Red Carpet was hollywood, couldn't we come up with something on their own? NO BRAINSTORMING!!! Can't they just add spice to our own culture, instead of attempting to adapt another culture...oh it 's so sad...
Growing up in the U.S I can proudly say that it almost seems like girls here are closer to the culture and cultural values.
What exactly are these people portraying. I wear really short sleeves but never sleeveless.
I mean all these awesome fashion designer sites--My question is WHAT GIRLS IN PAKISTAN WEAR THESE TYPE OF SKIMPY CLOTHES...i don't think average middle class adheres to these styles and if they do then I am definitely fashion challenged.
i went to pakistan this summer and i saw rich girls wering skimpy clothes but in upper middle class girls still wear shlwar kameez
well the awards have turned out to be rigged where the judges where karachittes and handed nearly every award to a karachitte thats why we saw all the deserving lahoris being ignored, all just for the dumb fashion councils.
iman ali should have easily won for best model, a 2 year old knows she should have.
Pink by Karma should also have won for Best Pret Wear Designer, again easily, they where the best by farrr in that department.
Best Hair & Make up Artist should have gone to either Shahzad Raza
or KR Crew,
you can see because of the councils seperating between lahore and karachi the fashion industry is suffering not only because of shortage of people but they are making enemys now. karachittes should stop whinning all the time with whatever lahore gets and accept, i think gov. needs to interfer here and join the councils up and as lahore was given the fashion council first by the gov. it should stay as the fashion capital and because of its rich culture and heritage it suits it perfectly.
suhaib i think amna haq is from lahore. I think she's a very versatile model. and this is not about lahore or karachi. I didnt catch the awards so I dont know much about the other categories. but i dont see any reason for the govt to interfere in this matter. plus competition breeds talent and better work IMO.
yes but amnah haq didnt win nor did she even get nomintated.
yes this is about lahore and karachi cos jang have given the same statement,
competition does breed talent and better work, its not just your opinion but my opinon too, but just look at how many people are in the fashion industry in pakistan, alltogeher not even 20 established designers, and now the fashion industry has split between the 2 citys its gets even lower. for paksitan to establish itself international on the fashion front they need well over 100 top designers, pakistan having a fashion week with just 10 deisgners will be a joke. they need to work togeher and compete with our big markets like india, now that is what i call proper competetion
It is true that Iman doesnt have the best personality, she is good with her friends (me and others) but she seriously (sorry to break ur hearts) doesnt like or appreciate her fans, as u guys can imagine it is hell annoying. Well this is the 5th year that she has not won the Lux awards, but there r reasons for that but mostly there is bias here. I cant tell u guys but and I wish I could, so u would stop guessing and analyzing but anyways, one general reason is that she was out of the country mostly this year and didnt do much ramp but as soon as she came back it got back to the everyday routine. She only works with selected ppl and this is another reason why she didnt get the award, she is lazy too and stubborn and doesnt really get along with ppl either, also ppl dont like her either-did I mention jealously-well she is a jealous person herself too. I mean come on we all have some bad sides to our personalities, everyone does. She isnt very lucky when it comes to Lux. Oh well, there is always next year. And we have stopped thinking about it because there is no point, if she wins, she wins, if she doesnt, what the hell doesnt matter!
I still love her as a model, a person, and a friend :)
I hope u guys wont let her down, that reminds me, watch Kismet!
I dont think u guys understand the difference and requirements needed for ramp and shoots in Pakistan!
Ramp: Skinny (almost anorexic looking), tall (the taller the better), catwalk, attitude (facial expresions), Almost no breasts is the best.
Photo shoots: Everything works fine, if u have good features or money :)
This is the problem talking to u guys, u dont believe anything, maybe because u r so used to hearing other ppl become relatives of celebrities. There is no point and I wont even bother anymore, hopeless and useless ppl here.
