Usually not in romantic love .
However.
It happens DEFINITELY in love related to ALLAH,his prophets,his wali-ALLAH etc.
When u remember ALLAH by praying namaz,calling out a dua etc,ALLAH definitely listens
When u cry and want HIM badly,HE comes close and listens.HE never ignores.
Same goes for last prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) and famous Auliya-ALLAH like Hazrat Data ALi Bin usman Hajveri Gunj Baksh(RA),Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Masoood Ganjshakar(RA) etc.
Their spirits are awake and are on duties by ALLAH,once u show love to them and call out to them,they listen and then take our pleads to ALLAH and ALLAH accepts them because HE never turns down the people who loved HIM when they were alive in this world.
