Lost Pets

I can totally relate to you, pets are like family! Always want to keep them with you forever <3

I have two cats too! Short hair tabby's =) Oh and a fish! He's a real survivor too!

Don't laugh but i still grieve for my first bakra in Pakiland. I was 7 and it visiting for eid, you people know the rest :( I mean that's emotionally scarring. To this day, no goat meat for me.

Sighs, my condolences. At least you had the good times/memories to remember them by. You won't ever forget them but take the time to heal.

so you walked with tummy sticking out? hmmmm

Re: Lost Pets

Re: Lost Pets

So when we have an animal as pet, do you think that from that animal's perspective we are his pet. You think my cat is calling other cats telling them that he has a male human, paki breed, as pet?

Re: Lost Pets

^ Haha....have u ever seen "Bolt"? the dog goes across the country to rescue "his person"....the way he keeps referring to the girl who owns him as his person like people refer to their pets. :D

Pets get possessive over their owners too! They might be more aggressive towards the opposite gender or certain family members. My brother always got bit by my rabbit, while my sister and I got all the affection lol.

Allah has given the ability of loving someone to pets also. I had this cat , he went missing for 6 months. I searched for him alot but couldn't find him. Then one day my dad called me to show me this very sick cat who was lying at our door step. The cat was in real bad state. It had 3rd degree skin infection (meaning i could not see any fur but a layer of kneaded flour like substance) , one eye missing , teeth missing. I felt so sorry for the poor thing that I took it in my house. When he meowed I realised that it was my lost cat who had finally made his way home. I took him to vet , vet honestly told me that it's the worst case he has ever seen. Anyways he was put on treatment. The treatment also required giving bath to him every day , which was most difficult for me. I just didnt have the strength to look at his scars but I had too. After 3 days he died. Reason for telling you all this is that despite his extreme sickness , he found his way back home and he only came to die. His sickness didn't make him forget me or his house. His love did made him come back.

Some people may find above stupid & too emotional but the above incident still have much importance in my life

Re: Lost Pets

i miss my parrot...i named her sweetu and I use to feed her amroot...

not stupid at all.
when I was three I found a kitten near our house that had been beaten up by other cats.
I carried it home and showed it to ammi. She was a nurse and we lived in the hospital compound so she cleaned his wounds and bandaged him up. We fed him and took care of him until he was well again.
Although he was an outside cat, he would come home to eat and be bathed. He was a suck and always got beaten up so ammi constantly had to take care of his wounds.
when we moved to canada we tried to relocate him.......he kept finding his way home.
ultimately papa tried to drop him off far from the house.....several miles away.....at a cousin's house where they were to feed him and take care of him.
we moved.
a month later we received a letter from the nurse that had moved into our home.......she said that our cat had returned to the house and would not come out from under my bed. it would cry and cry and refused to eat or drink until one day it passed away.
they all assumed that he was sad we left him behind.
I live with that guilt to this day.

Not stupid.

Re: Lost Pets

My first pet was a chicken....I was only 5 then but I really took care of him but it died within 6 months.....that was my first experience of seeing death.

Then we had a female dog that ate its kids so we gave it to someone else.

Then there was this lovely white puppy(it was a german shepherd)), I loved him so much but when it grew up it became a bit wild so I had to say good bye to him too. I still miss him.

Then I had a cat.

Recently a goldfish died.

Re: Lost Pets

Muzna, I dont even know what to say...

I never had a pet so never got attached to one the way lots of people do. Its amazing the bond some people share with their cats or dogs...magical.

Cute … you’ll have them again in jannah inshallah. I used to have two pet rabbits in Pakistan but one day some wild animal killed them and ate them.

I lost my African Grey "Mitthi" a few months ago too! :(

She used to say "Dekhtay rahain, GEO News"

Re: Lost Pets

^ Gina that is heartbreaking! How old was your AG? Did it get sick?

All these kitten stories are so sad, but its great to know a lot of people do care about hurt/injured animals=) InshAllah, we will be rewarded for it.

You guys should post some pics of your cute/cuddly critters too!

The vet said she had a heart-attack :( she was 4 years old and adorable!

I had lots and lots of canaries too..
