Yess it is, me and you compete for everything, remember?!

Laying in a pool of darkness staring into the night,
I hold back tears and stifle emotions with all of my might.
There's a hollowness inside me,
A pain and vulnerability I don't want the world to see.
Facing the reality of all taht I've lost,
it seems like the world is at a standstill; life has been paused.
Like an unlit candle trying to find its spark,
I try not to let past wounds affect me, though they've definitely left a mark.
Fighting all temptation of seeing my blood dripping,
I blaze to haze out memories and keep myself from tripping.
Succumbing to the notion of death gets harder to resist,
because I realize how much betrayal and misery my life truly consists.
Each passing day only leaves me more alone and afraid,
Not knowing how long I can keep up with this charade.
I give up on life, it's too hard of a test,
My soul died long ago, it's time to put this body to rest....
