With the current weak defence (and crappy goalie) and a forward line lacking in skill, fluency and penetration, the rout was always on the cards. Australia are world champions for a reason

you mean the rest of the teams were from Gujranwala and Toba Tek Singh disguised as international teams?
YEP i stand behind my words....they were sort of from gujranwala and toba tek singh.....south africa is not exactly a hockey playing nation...they never had a good hockey team...Spain used to be a good team but even then it was never categorized a top 4 team on a consistent basis...both teams have never any major hockey tournament..world cup, champion trophy or Olympics...and yet we were losing to SA by 5-3 until last 3 minutes...

and by the way someone shd go and check the birth certificates for these senior hockey players...i can bet some of them are probably 5 years older than their documented ages!
(i know by making this statement i am giving a penalty stroke to ehsan bhai to ridicule me but...kaya karein..sachi baat to karni hee partiee ha!)

With the kind of investment in sports (well no investment in fact) this is to be expected. The poor players are the symptom of our terrible support network in Pakistan for sports.
really can't blame them. They were so anaemic and dull compared to the hattay kattay other teams.

Cricket and hockey are the only two sports played seriously in Pak. Squash is in decline since the 2000s
India have bagged 23 medals in all Olympics so far (8 of them gold medals in hockey)
