good for him. :k: and who knows wht were the circumstances that made him live a life like that? maybe too many responsibilities back home. too many dependent people.

Everyone made fun of this guy. He worked All day, everyday, 9-10 pm, 7 days a week. He got up, went to work, came back home. He has been doing this for the past 15 years. He does not know his way around Manhattan. He has never been outside New York. He has not seen his family, his son for about 15 years. He only knows how to get from home to work, he knows his job and he calls home now and then. Never Spends only saves. I have NEVER seen someone so focused.
He does not have a degree. He never went to school past sixth grade.

They said he does not have a life. They laughed at him.

Well they just found out he bought two HUGE houses in pakistan, and that he is now a millionaire.

And you are evaluating his success in life by his money and his 2 huge houses.
I wonder what happens to his houses and money when he dies, does he take them into the grave with him.

This is what is wrong with us people today. We spend our whole lives running after money, and forget Allah (SWT), our parents, wife and kids.

Well like sara qasoor said, we only know what shweet told us, who knows what his circumstances are. It's not easy to do as he did, maybe he had some compelling reason.

This Aunty in my neighborhood, she keeps telling me how well off her family is in India, how they sold everything to come here, it's been more than 20 years yet they are still struggling to establish themselves as until recently they were illegal immigrants (they just got their work permit). I always used to tell her why don't you go back there, and she's say go back to what? we gambled everything for a life here. kis munh se wapas jayen?

Then there is this bent old bengali man by the Prospect Park expwy, looks like he's in his 80s, come rain or shine or freezing weather he is there selling roses to the folks driving by. I always feel so sorry for him that at his age he should be warm at home with children looking after him and he's out here. I SO want to know his story. I'm gonna take a bengali friend and talk to him one day.

So maybe shweet's unkil decided he doesn't wanna live like that, esp since he doesn't have basic education, maybe he came here with a plan and was able to successfully execute it. He didn't waste his time and money on frivolous things, he provided for his family in the way he knew and felt was best.

Only Allah knows what was in his heart, who are we to judge.
