You know in the Alchemist the owner of the glass shop says he would love to go for Hajj and visit the house of Allah - that was his ultimate dream, but as he grows older he realises he'd prefer it to remain a figment of his imagination because that way he can imagine it to be as wondrous as he wants it to be.
Thats the same with any other dream - we're always in pursuit of perfection that we'll never have.
