DawnNews is reporting that police has baton-charged PAT protesters near the Nadra Chowk. Police deputed in Islamabad’s Red Zone area were authorised to use force against protesters staging their Azadi March in the federal capital, according to the copy of a document available with Dawn.

I’m really glad there’s no violence from either side. Thats exactly what should have happened.
They protesters should be allowed to do sit-in.
But the question is, what if they invade govt. buildings and diplomat enclave despite IK’s promises. I’m sure he’ll duck saying the same thing that he cant control his workers.

From ARY: Police has declared that they would only act if written order is given by magistrate. So, big doubt got raised that police would act.
Till now, Gullu Thugs were ordering police to act but magistrates were reluctant to give any written orders. It is obvious, because if written orders are given than when new government would come, they would hang the culprits.
Same is true with army, that they would act if order is given by Army general (or officer in charge) and that means, army has to show that they are supporting government against people, and person who would give order would have to bear the burden when government changes.

and yes army will never fire unarmed civilians but who gave the control of red zone to the army?
