Re: Live Updates of Azadi March
The sad part is that none of the other protestors made such a mess. I pass there every day to go home. I see protests daily this week never seen such a terrible mess.
They just threw water bottles on the floor, left placards etc.

Correction:- PM actually didn’t meet the Pakistani American community at all. The meeting in a small room at the 18th floor of Astoria Waldorf Hotel was only with select trusted PMLN party workers. Only 30-40 people from outside the hotel were allowed in; even most PMLN workers who had gathered outside the Hotel were not allowed in by security. Technically if you say PMLN workers are Pakistani community then PM did have a meeting but not the way a confident Nawaz Sharif - a public leader with huge following - would meet the Pak-American community. Usually such meetings are held in large halls with hundreds of people and Musharraf in his last few years had to face embarrassments when Pakistani Americans asked difficult questions or booed him.
But what does it tell us about Nawaz Sharif? It shows that he is “under-siege”. He has gone out to UN and New York to demonstrate his confidence and to show that he is over his political crisis and is in firm control. However the challenge he faces is that unlike Pakistan where his Police thugs can arrest people arbitrarily, Exec-Magistrates can send them to jail without the right of hearing and people can be beaten and taught a lesson and State Bank and Judiciary can come up with helpful tactical support against political opponents, no such facilities are available in democratic New York where Pakistani Americans will not be afraid of asking difficult question or booing because there is no Punjab Police waiting for them outside the hall. But for Nawaz to be so afraid of these slogans of “Go Nawaz Go” and difficult questions shows how uncomfortable he is with this political challenge and how insecure he is in facing up to criticism.
And we hear that Nirendra Modi - the Indian PM - is doing marathon public meetings and will meet series of international politicians and businessmen and top dignitaries. What is the difference? Modi despite all his difficult past is a natural born, self-made leader that has learnt to stand up to adversity but Pakistani PM simply does not have that leadership metal. Otherwise how important are few angry protesters inside a large meeting hall?
So a Genocidal maniac who engineered the massacre of Muslims is a good man. Seriously next you will say that Hitler is better than NS.
You guys will destroy Pakistan just to prove that IK and PTI is always right.
And NS did not meet the Pakistani community because he is scared. He knows that if he does all the PTI will get in.

10,000 people at the PTI rally in NYC? Oh for the love of god I am done with this. Its bloody 47th street between 1st and 2nd. The area is not big enough to hold 1000 people let alone 10,000.

Sure there are. Driving around in their SUVs, dropping kids to school, soccer, then groceries, then home watching dramas on HUM TV..

He looked petrified. You could clearly tell he didn’t mean half of the things he was saying, I mean, reading. I wonder if the speech was written in the GHQ? LOL
Is he coming back to Pakistan? Obama isn’t meeting him, Indians refused to meet him, he has is so scared and ashamed of meeting American Pakistanis, so what is he going to do there?

So who is lying ? The transcript talks about Kashmir but earlier it was mentioned that there was no reference to it.
Did anybody hear the speech live ?
Maybe he skipped over certain paragraphs from the speech.

By the way, what’s up with status quo politicians new found love for Kashmir? First Billooo with his random, out of blue ‘I shall liberate Kashmir’ jingles, and now NS trying to outdo him in the UN. I wonder who are they trying to impress? Or is it some cheap, tried and tested, attention seeking rhetoric to appeal to jingoistic masses. Dear oh dear…
There’s a reason why Nawaz looked like as if he’s on the verge of sobbing as he could see his dream of personal steal (steel) and sugar mill contract with India dissipating in the air.
Jindal family won’t invite you for another dinner after that speech, eh.
