Well, if state bank is not going to redeem the notes then one should take the state bank to court, as notes are just ‘promising notes’ and as long as it can be proven that what is written on promising notes are correct, than bank have to redeem them.
Anyhow, we are dealing with mind set where taking loan and not repaying is culture, so bank may not like to repay and since judges in court are paid employee of Nawaz, and think that they are there to sell state power to Thugs like Nawaz, than it is possible that court might say anything.
Nevertheless, if judge would be honest than he would make sure that state bank pays the amount on the note.
if we understand what currency notes are, then things would be clear, that is, ‘Currency Notes’ are actually what it is, and that is ‘a note’ … a note saying that state bank own amount mentioned on the note to the bearer of the note.
Now, it is obvious that if I own something belonging to the bearer of the note, than I cannot say that I would not give the amount to the bearer if the note I gave the bearer is debased still indicates clearly that I own ‘X’ amount to the bearer … with my signature on the note.
Anyhow, if state bank makes it a habit not to honour the notes they issued, then no one (not even Pakistani citizen) would trust their issued notes (Pakistani Rupee) and then country would collapse, as a country without a currency issued by state that people can trust, cannot survive.
