Live Updates of Azadi March

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

Yup. He being NS. Regardless involving the military was the worst decision made so far. And that is saying a lot as there have been a lot of bad decisions.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

Mahmood Khan Cheechakzai?

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

Interior Minister Chaudhry Ali Nisar Khan told parliament the protesters’ unwillingness to trust anyone “Again and again they said they only trust the army and will only have talks through the army,” he said.

Army will not get involved unless instructed by the government, so government asked army to facilitate the talks at the insistence of IK and TUQ. The army would not listen to IK and TUQ. IK and TUQ made the request to the government and the government made the request to army on the behalf of IK and TUQ.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

Go ahead present evidence. I’m all ears, sorry, all eyes.

In all honestly I would love to have you say something new and remotely credible. It’s hard not to feel bored of hearing the same old "Hey I stayed in Afghanistan, I am Godsent, my every word is a prophetic revelation and all others who haven’t got Afghanistan visa stamp in their passports are simply beneath me’. Followed by a steak of priggish diatribe. That’s all?

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

well.
Calling army is like losing tape ball match. dont mean much.
Real bad decision he made was, not being honest through out his career.
Rather the working for people, he always picked some token show off project, that too for lahore, and then did corruption.
Tell me some thing, making country hell than have your own where you can walk freely, when million people are guarding.
OR
Making country like haven, and being able to walk freely every where.

He chose the first one.
Well he is paying the price. His bad decision were not being honest.

ISLAMABAD: The business community of the federal capital expressed deep concern on Thursday over the continuing closure of their shops due to the sit-ins organised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) president Shoban Khalid said that sit-ins, marches were causing huge financial and trade loss to the capital Markets.

Talking to APP, he said that ‘Azadi March’ of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and ‘Inqalab March’ of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were adversely affecting the national economy.

Expressing concern over the current political situation, the ICCI president said that PTI and PAT were on one side and the whole country on the other. He said that since almost two weeks, Islamabad’s traders have been confined to their homes and they were suffering a huge loss due to the marches.

Aabpara Market Welfare Association President Ajmal Baloch told APP that the business activities, especially in Aabpara Market have come to a complete halt, due to the marches and sit-ins.

“For last two weeks our shops have been shut due to the protest,” Baloch said. He further said that the Aabpara market was most affected due to the marches and claimed traders had suffered losses to the tune of Rs0.5 billion.

“Traders always get the hit when political parties take the city hostage,” Baloch said.

President Anjuman e Tajran G/9 Markaz, Raj Muhammad The traders appealed to district administration to allot a separate space for protests in future and not to allow such activities in Aabpara and other business centres.

“There was no reason for PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri to hold marches and sit-ins as their demand for the resignation of an elected prime minister is not only unjustified but also unconstitutional,” he added.

He said both PTI and PAT wanted to derail democracy and destabilise the country through their unconstitutional demands.

President Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries(ICSTSI), Kamran Abbasi said that trade and commerce activities in the capital were affected due to marches and held PTI and PAT responsible for this loss.

He said the Supreme Court has given a clear order to PTI and PAT to vacate the Constitution Avenue.

No more confidence in economy

http://cache.pakistantoday.com.pk/state-bank-543.jpg

  • Survey reveals that over 1,800 households think negative of economic conditions ahead

With the stocks and money markets braving fresh blows on a daily basis and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) shrunk by 80 percent during the month of July, the consumers’ confidence in the politically-troubled country’s economic conditions is also shaking.

Likewise, the hundreds of households surveyed came up with a negative view of the consumer-related economic indicators, prominently, the ever present inflationary pressures and unemployment during the next six months.

The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI), which is jointly conducted by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the Institute of Business Administration under the head of Consumer Confidence Survey (CCS) after every two months, has declined to 142.26 percent from 143.99 percent of the preceding couple of months.

The CCI is made up of two sub indices: Expected Economic Conditions (EEC) index and Current Economic Conditions (CEC) index.

“The CCI showed some decline after consecutive improvement since January 2014,” observed the surveyors.
The 1.73 percent contraction was recorded in CCI in early last month, between July 1st and 6th, when the politically-ambitious leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) was bracing for taking to the streets of Islamabad in the name of “Azadi” (independence) and “Inquilab” (revolution) marches.

The supporters of the two parties since August 14 have staged separate sit-ins in the federal capital’s Red Zone rendering regular blows to the country’s fragile economy. Official data show that the flow of FDI into Pakistan slid by $ 95 million to stand at $ 24 million in July, first month of FY 2014-15, compared to $ 119 million the dollar-hungry country had attracted in the same month last year.

Similarly, the otherwise strengthening Pak Rupee has lost more than Rs 4 to the US dollar to trade at Rs 103 in recent days. The benchmark KSE 100-share index at the sentiments-driven equity market witnessed a record slump of more than 1,300 points on Aug 11, when PAT had declared to join PTI’s march on Islamabad.

The SBP and IBA, in their stratified random telephone survey (CCS) of more than 1,800 households from across

Pakistan, found that the CEC index had slid to 150.74 percent from 151.39 percent. Under CEC, the surveyors capture the households’ current economic conditions relative to the last six months.

Unclear about what would come next thanks to the politically charged atmosphere in the country, the households even early last month were expecting the country’s economic conditions to deteriorate during the months to come.

This negative view was reflected in the decline of EEC index, which covers the households’ expectations of economic conditions in the next six months, to 134.85 percent from the previous 137.52 percent.
“For the month of July 2014, both these sub indices registered decline,” the survey said.

However, it added, the decline in CEC index was “marginal” in the current survey. Whereas the EEC index showed a “considerable” decrease that lead to overall decline of the CCI, the survey said.

An increasing number of consumers thought negatively of other economic indicators concerning them. For example, 49.04 percent (in July) compared to 44.26 percent (in May) of the consumers surveyed apprehended that the overall inflation would shoot up in coming six months.

“Relative to the previous survey, households are expecting an increase in inflationary pressures over the next six months (in general), also reflected in food, energy and other items of daily use,” said the surveyors.

Clearly the irony/sarcasm is lost on you, and that's all I can say in that regard. I do feel bad for starting you though.

If that's not enough to sooth you, then carry on with your smug delusional rambling about experience, value, evidence. As if any of your posts soaked in priggish personal outburst and arrogant assumption remotely presented all those things. I guess this claptrap should now be be taken as this month's quota post on your stay in Afghanistan. Hopefully the next installment will be slightly less mundane.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

Jolie when you actually experience something beyond the plush life in the UK, you would know how much experience, value and evidence matter when it comes to personal credibility and the ability to understand complex situations.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

NS told the Parliament this morning that he got phone call from TuQ/IK and they asked that if army chief could mediate to end the crisis (I'm paraphrasing) which he (NS) instantly agreed to. Which we now know is not true. So, question is who brought army in politics? If NS lying to the public he should go b/c he said he would sacrifice 10 govts for democracy. Now let us wait for him to match his words with his actions.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

He is not lying, he has accepted that he asked for CAOS as mediator. He and his government should go home. He should hand over power to Chairman Senate for reelections.

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

That is not what he said in the NA this morning (I was watching it). Govt has now changed the statement.
