Live Updates of Azadi March

Re: Live Updates of Azadi March

One another senior member shamelessly used the word ‘mujra’ to degrade the women marchers, and honestly speaking, such kind of thinking says more about these men stationed in their homes than the women that are out there protesting. Such sexist vultures are exactly the reason why ‘respected’ families don’t let their women out and play an active role in the society. These women despite having money, education, family name, network don’t use their full potential to make a real difference because the sexism and blatant misogyny they experience to is a real hindrance to their participation in the public life.

I’m in no mood to start any campaign to combat the resident truck driver sexist mentality in this forum or anywhere else, and believe me, I’m not anyway proud of my reluctance. But I have to say that the crass objectification of women marchers, especially the ones belonging to the PTI camp, on social media is absolutely appalling. It’s disgusting. I don’t know whether the collective lusting after a female body is a part of what we call lad culture or it’s a phenomenon that explains the growing ‘rape culture’ in that part of the world. But whatever it is, shame on those boys (no I won’t call them men!) for reducing women as mere object of desire if pretty, and target of obscene jokes and insult if, God forbid, overweight. Maybe it’s about time that women start throwing their bangles at such jealous and insecure men.

By the way, for all the dolts employing hackneyed terminology to fan existing class war and discrimination, if burger really means what I think it means, then the the 70 year old man who found this country is perhaps the biggest burger this part of the world has ever produced! Quit worshipping him. To rest of the members, I’m sorry to be crude, but I had to say this for the hypocrites, and they know exactly who they are.
