At my local masjid we have a big prayer space for women, they have their washroom and wudu room. I have seen it myself.
Why do you complain, why don’t you do something about it?
Btw, merc, I don’t like it when someone makes fun of my religion. My deen. My Islam. I do not want to support anybody who has a relation with those who make fun of my deen.

I don’t think anyone is making fun of you. I personally commend such an effort that shows the lighter side of Muslims and how the moderate Muslim has to deal with stereotypes.
C’mon… you’ve got to admit… who cooks a goat on a spit anymore??
but there are those who think Muslims are backward enough to do something like this.
The show portrays a multitude of Muslims with different attitudes… moreover dichotomies of sorts: you have the modern Imam who preaches tolerance v.s. the self-proclaimed Imam who forbids chewing gum… you have the café lady who takes pride in her indigenous traditions and then you have the young girl who still wears the hijab and still practices moderate Islamic values.
I think the show will do a good job by using self-deprecating humour…
Ask any psychologist and they’ll tell you that the power of self-deprecating humour to defuse an otherwise tense or difficult situation is beyond dispute - and I'm hoping this show will succeed in at least bringing some people more closer to their Muslim community members.... not a whole lot, but some for sure.
I'm looking forward to the series... from the first episode, I did not agree with some of the things but could "relate" to a lot of them.
The 2nd episode was kind of better than the first - but it still focuses too much on insider theological jokes. The humour should not be about Islam or the controversies within the communities, it should be about the people.
I didn't find the whole wall or wall compromise thing funny. But I did find Yasir and his wife's feud to be amusing. particularly at the end where the Mayor tries to send Sarah home and she doesn't understand why until Yasir triggers his drill...
