The Popeyes at Younge and Dundas is halal...they have a halal certificate at the cash.

That's right! I go to Toronto after every couple of months for business and found that Popeyes at Peanut Plaza (Don Mills/Van Horne) is simply the Best. The second Best is at Yonge/Steeles and the 3rd one I should say at Bullock/HWY7. I know almost all the owners of these shops and they make sure that they carry only vegi oil and Halal chicken from Niagara**

Hey, i use to work at that popeys location !!! :)
Then which Popeyes is owned by the Sikh? Is it the one in scarbrough?
Ive also been to the one at Peanut Plaza and the one Across Markville Mall. I prefer the Markville one. Its not as cramped as Peanut's.
I never knew a Popeyes was owed by a sikh...
The guy who owns the Popeyes at HWY7/Bullock (opposite to Markville Mall) is Pakistani, he came from Saudia and was a Chief Electrical Eng over there. The family runs the business but sorry to say their attitude towards customers was always an issue and number of complaints were sent to Popeyes Head Office in Louisiana. They better be careful otherwise they gonna loose their business or they might have to run under KFC (Kennedy Fired Chicken) ![]()
Peanut Plaza and the one at Yonge and Steeles are owned by the same family and they are Catholic from either Gayana (don’t know the rite spelling) or Trinidad.
The one that is owned by a Sikh is at Yonge and Dundas but he hired a Pakistani Punjabi family to run the business.
The one in scarborough (Midland/Lawrence if I am not mistaken) owned by a Muslim guy, quality of food is so so. This guy is somewhere from African muslim country not sure which one…
Why I know all about them is because our company had a contract with POPEYES head office to setup the same network as McDonalds but since DOT COM became DOT BOMB the project was cancelled and owners became reluctant of technology.
OH by the way do you know how many Nudy Bars are owned by Pakistani and Irani people…??? You’ll be amazed to know…
Holy Moly! You know them well... Thanks for clearing out the Sikh guy thing..my dad knows the owner of Popeyes in Markham. They have alot of kids and u'll meet one or two of em when u go to the store.
I have one complaint about the store. Every year they jack up the prices and have a tendency of making products smaller. Another problem with them is that the owner's kids frequently misplace orders. I once got cajun rice instead of a buttermild biscuit.
I personally like the Popeyes near that little arab shop. There is a flower shop right next door. They have good service the food is never cold.
Ill be meeting Mr.Popeyes of Markham at jummah namaz in a few hours so if u have any complaints lemme know fast.

For those of you who don't know where Bluffers' Park is:
Its a very good place to visit in Scarborough (Toronto)....
If you drive down on Brimly towards south at the very end you'll find Bluffers Park. Make sure you don't go there over the weekend because its full of charsi mawali Srilankans. Week day after 5:00pm is the best time to go...S2U
