I believe Osama was killed many years ago, but if it was made public at the time then there was no reason for the US to be in the region. So to enable the US to carry on in the region spying on Pakistan’s Nuclear arsenal, installing puppet governments in Afghanistan, destabilising the Middle East, Strengthening Israel, invading Iraq, generally get a strong foothold in the region. Now that its goals have been met, out comes a story "We’ve Got Him!!’ now they can save face and so home to a glorious welcome! and Obama gets a boost to his leadership!
