Why should Shoaib Akhtar be rid of? In fact, to disassemble this Mullah culture in our team, we need him as captain. No more daarhi and namazain as basis for selection. Let's stick to merit and integrate young talented players from domestic cricket gradually but surely. Shoaib needs motivation and when one is accused multiple times of a lack of commitment to the side, I don't see how he will be motivated to give it his all. Captaincy or even vice captaincy will ensure a sense of responsibility and I guarantee you better results than were seen with the Maulana brigade in charge.
Shoaib is too much of a distraction. There is a new problem with him everyday. If its not fighting with the coach, its taking steroids. And he's constantly injured as well, which is not something you want in a captain. Besides, he isn't getting any younger so I don't see why he should fall in our future plans. I'm no fan of the maulana culture either but Shoaib is not the answer.
