LAHORE: Ikramul Haq, an activist of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) was hanged at Kot Lakhpat Central Jail, Lahore, on Saturday morning for the 2001 killing of a man at an imambargah in Jhang.
Haq was scheduled to be hung earlier on January 8, 2014 but the execution was delayed at the eleventh hour after an agreement between the plaintiff and the defendant was produced before the magistrate.
Later the condemned prisoner and the plaintiff parties were asked to approach the anti-terrorism court for confirmation of the agreement, pardoning Haq.

Out of eight family members of the deceased Abbas, only his two brothers and a sister appeared before the judge, hence the court refused to accept the agreement and upheld its decision of death sentence to the convict.
Earlier in 2004 an anti-terrorism court in Faisalabad had awarded the death sentence to Ikramul Haq in connection with killing a man Nayyar Abbas, who was a guard of Altaf Shah of the banned Sipah-i-Muhammad at an imambargah in Shorkot, Jhang in 2001.
The ATC had issued his (Haq’s) death warrants on January 6, 2014. President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain had also turned down his mercy appeal.
The Faisalabad anti-terrorism court had also reissued black warrant for Haq’s execution. Council for the convict had challenged the warrants before the Lahore High Court but the petition was dismissed by a bench of the LHC.

Strict security measures were in place in and around Kot Lakhpat Central Jail. Heavy contingent of police, besides army and rangers personnel were deployed in and outside the jail premises.
Family members of Ikramul Haq held last meeting with him on Wednesday. After carrying out the execution, authorities handed over Haq’s body to his brother.

You are trying to mix two different terrorism cases and calling justice as selective justice. You should know that there are several groups killing in Pakistan. Some are killing as they want their rights, some are killing because they want independence, some are killing to eliminate their political opponents, some are killing for revenge, some are killing for criminal reasons, and so on. Anyhow, none of these people are killing to impose their will and deviant sectarian beliefs over the nation (Pakistan) and fighting the state (and army) to get into power, except those who are killing and spreading terrorism in the name of religion and their deviant sectarian beliefs.
Pakistan army may be fighting at regional level against those who are fighting for independence or for their rights (as in Baluchistan), but at national level, Pakistan army is only fighting those killing and spreading terror in the name of religion and their deviant sectarian beliefs, as these thugs are threatening the whole nation. No Pakistani, wherever he maybe, is safe from fitna of these terrorists (religious or sectarian terrorists).
Since all other killings that is happening in Pakistan, can (and should) be sorted out through political dialogues and bringing equality (and prosperity) in the country, through police and judiciary, or through giving rights to deprived and persecuted, but when a group is challenging the state throughout Pakistan in the name of religion wanting to impose their deviant sectarian beliefs over others using force (killing and terrorism), only solution for these terrorist group is military court and those guilty have to get hanged ... and that cannot be called selective justice.

There is no difference janab. Killer of people saulat mirza is still alive and those with charges of one murder or attempted murder are hanged.
It is not about whether akram should be hanged or not, sharia pronouncement of qisas should always be there but such differentiation will only divide our nation.

I think it will be othe way round.
At the moment all parties agree on the point that these TTP / Alqaeda ppl are enemy no. one . They shud be eliminated . If we open up other issues t the moment than may be ppl will ask for example hanging of uzair baloch and others ..
This will give chance for ppl to divert our energy on other directions. I feel that this 2 year time of ATC shud be only for these killers who want to imeplement islam of their own and hence causing embarresment for all muslims
