A few months back I was flying to Lahore and was seated next to a bulky guy who barely managed to fit in the middle seat in a three-seat row. Donning a typical political costume of white shalwar Kameez with a black waistcoat and a thick mustache, the guy not only appeared utterly unhappy with the size of his seat, but he also offered some advice for the airliner and the aircraft maker. Among other theatrics, he made over two dozen calls until he was literally forced to switch off his cell.

In one of those screaming conversations he had with different people, I heard him telling his friend in Lahore that he has a room booked in PC Lahore and that he is bringing booze with him which, “if I managed to sneak out of the Customs god-willing, we would have a grand party tonight at the PC.”

During the course of the flight he introduced himself to me as the Chairman of Zakat And Ushar Committee, Gujranwala.

were you invited to the party? after all, you were his next seat neighbour during the flight! hehe
