From sarf we learn there is the ism, f’il and harf … likewise, in nahuw we learn there is the Jumla and Shibhu jumla … these translate to sentence and word phrase/psuedo-sentence.

Unlike in English or Urdu where we express the word “is” or “are” or “am” in nominal sentences, in Arabic these are not present as separate words. Rather the combination of words and their utterance gives away what meaning is being held by them. Due to this Arabic has a very simple sentence structure where a complete sentence can be expressed in two or even one word.
