^^^ Actually the previous government did introduce law after death of Salman Taseer, but had to withdraw b/c of threats, protests and intimation by mullahs. In fact, Sherry Rehman, who introduced the legislation was charged with blasphemy herself.

The previous government could not even stand up with the deceased. There’s no difference between those ruling then and now. In fact present regime is better than them in many ways.
