Yup it's the label with its associated prestige that sells. Also SS gets so common everyone knows you're wearing SS. 2 yrs ago I went to a birthday, three ladies were wearing the same SS lawn suit! The famous white with black embroidery and pink and green dupatta combo.

hmmm thats what im saying its label. Let me tell you that we Pakistanis are such conscious about brand name. I have a multi cultural circle of friends here not confined only to Pakistanis and they dont carry even a wee bit of such consciousness. Are we too much going after status items I mean we PAKISTANIS

Well, twiny, i totally agree, seems its became the joy for pakis to run after brands. And women are more commited to this frenzy. Another thing ive noticed about this designer lawn mania is that now not only the upper class ladies are into it balkay almost har class hi effect hui hai. I mean during elan and ss exi i noticed women from every walk of life were buying crazily. I donno if i am making my point clear, but somehow middle class and even lower middle class is also hit hard. Allah janay yay sab yay garerb nation afford kesay kar rahi hay . sigh*

But you know what my family is not into this craze its only me who started buying this branded stuff some 4 or 5 years back. My sisters still are more eager to wear Yahsir Waheed and Mausummery (yes they are brands but not as celebrated as others we know). My 3rd no sister is herself doing bachelors in textile designing and obviously knows more than me about the designers and brands but even she is not much into all this. My mom is always after me that why i spend the hard earned money on such labels.

i would like to add in the discussion going on above.. i believe being brand conscious has become history for western world but for us Pakistanis this 'brand revolution' has just been introduced since the last 5 to 6 years..and that's why response is overwhelming.. its just like keeping the latest mobile phones....people are going crazy and the name of designer or a celebrity associated with some product add to its value...as far as this pre't and lawn concept is concerned many celebrities who don't even know the abc of fashion or designing are getting their names associated and getting huge royalties e.g nadia hussain..vaneeza ahmed..fawad khan..shahid afridi..ibrar ul haq..etc. and another dilemma in the lawn scenario is that every tom, Dick and Harry is producing lawn even they are capable or not.

Nopes the border is print and I purchased the lace and had to get it dyed since I couldn't find the exact peach shade from a few shops.
