During the past one year I know of at least 6-7 incidents of armed robberies of my close relatives have been mugged during the past year. Situation has deteriorated and the police does not want to register the fir. The fir one finally gets registered after bribes is that ones possessions fell down somewhere, and not dacoity as that deteriorates the crime statistics. This is the story of the city where most of Punjab’s funds go. If unchecked Lahore is going the same way of Karachi, and the provincial government does not seem to be bothered.
