Latest purchase/s

Re: Latest purchase/s

@M_was_here i am in lov with ur collection ..but i have no idea what is illuminator for :hmmm:

Re: Latest purchase/s

^I love that Revlon shade! What is it called?

And illuminators are liquid highlighters. They can be added to foundation to add dewyness or added where you would normally highlight like on top of cheekbones etc.

Re: Latest purchase/s

that shade is called Rosy nude …and thanks first i need to make myself perfect on foundation application then i’ll jump to illuminators :halo:

Re: Latest purchase/s

^Rosy Nude is gorgeous! I think I just may get that, how's the formula? Drying or softening?

Re: Latest purchase/s

^ its actually not moisturizing enough ..but this shade

Re: Latest purchase/s

^thanks for letting me know, I'm going to do some research on it and look for dupe but better formula. Thanks!

Re: Latest purchase/s

I ordered the RBR illuminator samples.... can't pass up free samples!

I looked for Revlon Rosy Nude after Marwah posted about it but I haven't found it here yet.

I also bought the Bobbi Brown Corrector last week. After MWH's post I checked out the reviews and it seemed pretty good. I'm very happy. My circles weren't that dark but I was having a combination of the darkness plus a shadow from the area being a bit recessed.
I went from daily contact lens wear to glasses about 4 years ago and now whenever I'd wear lenses my eyes looked tired and bleehhhh. But this stuff is amazing. I hardly wear much and it totally cancels out that brownishness. I've gone twice without my glasses now. On the weekend when I was just popping over to my mums, this is all I used, on the lid as well. Normally, pre-shadow and liner wear, I wear MAC paint (which is fine since it's quick thick) but otherwise, this is way better than concealer to bring my lids to the same colour as the rest of my face if I'm going almost bare.

I've bought one of my sister too. I'm NC30 in foundation and NW25 in MAC concealer and I bought light peach. My sister is two shades darker than me so I bought her peach (after trying light peach on her and it being slightly too light).

Re: Latest purchase/s

^i'm around the same skin color as you and I wear my glasses 99% of the time too and have the same problem. I'm thinking of getting this BB correcter also after hearing all the rave. I know you have oily skin like me, so I thought i'd ask you if you find it to be too thick and oily b/c I know creamy concealers they tend to get oily.

Re: Latest purchase/s

I bought Bohn swimwear in navy (ankle size tights, full sleeved top)…if anyone else is interested in buying modest swimwear here’s the link
Bohn Swimwear Range - UKSwimStore Womens Swimwear

also bought this swim bra top and this mesh kit bag from the same site. Everything cost £75.

Re: Latest purchase/s

I bought a bunch of Wet n' Wild eye shadow palettes. With the exception of one, they're not that good at all. The pigmentation, staying power or ability to blend isn't great. I got a couple of their lipsticks for dirt cheap and they were actually pretty nice. Bright pinks, nudes in matte formula which is my favorite.

Re: Latest purchase/s

Stoppit, I bought that shade a few weeks back and the woman in the store told me that they're gonna be discontinued soon, I preseume to make way for the new Lip Butter range coming out in March by Revlon. There's still a few left in Boots and Superdrugs, but snap em up quick!

Also, anyone who likes Rosy Nude may also like another shade by Revlon called Soft Rose, it's a bit more pinkier than Rosy Nude but still very nice, check it out!

Also I wanna order samples of the RBR, how do I do that?!

Re: Latest purchase/s

Also, cos this is a 'latest purchase thread', I bought that Garnier BB cream and it's pretty nice, good for every day wear, esp as I prefer tinted moisturisers when I can't be asked to put on foundation

Re: Latest purchase/s

Stoppit: is this the one you’ve purchased?
Corrector - Correctors & Concealers - Makeup - Bobbi Brown UK

I havent got really bad dark circles but would like something that makes me look awake when im not wearing my glasses. I bought the Benefit Erase paste and hated it, trying to blend it was complete nightmare i just found the stuff creased under my eyes and just looked really blahhhhhhhh. Would love to hear how you’re getting on with the BB.

Re: Latest purchase/s

Yeah, some are hits and some are misses. Which one did you get? Vanity, Comfort Zone and Walking on Eggshells are MUSTS.

Re: Latest purchase/s

And YAY @stoppit. I'm glad you got the RBR samples as well as the BB corrector. I use Light Peach and it totally erases the brownness. And which RBR samples did you order? You need to try Sea of Showers!

Re: Latest purchase/s

Yup, that's the one. Apparently the peach shades are best for olive skin tones.

Might dark circles aren't too bad but the combo of that with the shadow caused by the recess made them much worse. So I don't use too much. I didn't have a brush, so I'm using a cheapo synthetic concealer brush that I had in a cheap brush kit, but it works fine for now. I apply a very light layer all over the under eye area and the sides of my eye to make it all even. If I feel I need more, I go back over where I think I need more, then pat with my index finger. I don't think it's too thick and creamy - it just depends how much you apply (like the MAC full coverage foundation, which I also wear sheer). It's set with the pressed powder I use over the rest of my face.

I've had it for a week now and no problems with creasing. I don't think it's overly creamy and 'wet' either. The effect is good. My sister was really impressed and I got compliments when I was glasses free, rather than the 'you like tired'.

In response to Marwah's question, it does get a bit oily, I assume because it sweats. With my old combination, my undereye area was the only part of my face that didn't get oily after a whole day of MU wear, so I don't think that part of my face produces oil. After setting with powder, it looks great, but it does get a bit shiny later. It's not a huge deal for me because I am completely impressed otherwise. I haven't had problems with creasing, which I think is a worse problem. But again, I don't use too much.

I will send you guys a pic.

Re: Latest purchase/s

I’ll keep a look out. The two boots I checked had no Revlon and superdrug didn’t have that shade.
