It's all to do with the way we are genetically built.
Men in general are less emotional than women. Emotion is not a necessity when you are hunting and gathering. Emotion is a necessity when you are taking care of children and family.
Then society comes in an supports the above. Men have been taught to do the hunting and gathering which does not require too much emotion, and women have been taught to do the nurturing which does require a lot of emotion.
It's not until recently that these gender roles have been challenged and you can’t change many years of evolution over night.
