With Inzi and Shoaib Malik out for this match , I think it balances out even.
But Pakistan will sure win this one with , “Flying Colors” whtr Lara is IN or OUT,

Now whats that suppose to mean? I guess you have been saying that in the past that shoaib akhtar with his destrctivue or disruptive attitude is not good for pakistan. So apparently you are saying that lara is not good for the WI side as well. In this case you meant thathis disruptive attitude is his tremendous batting record i guess:D

Beats me. Thats why i provided all the figures. I don't know if they play as a unit or not in his presence but the figures suggest that WI are usually on the top of their game when he is in the side.

Similarly, when Shoaib was in the team, we more often relied on his “singlehanded victories” and in his absence others (esp bowlers) have raised their game level. Shoaib’s example may have been a bad one …

I don’t know why you brought up all those numbers for when he was captain and others were captain etc etc. If you could bring up numbers of “rest of the team” when Lara was in the team and when he was not in the team.. that could better challenge my statement/comment

I don’t think I need to bring any more figures for you. Those already presented are good enough to prove your statement wrong that they play as a unit when he is not in the side. So why don’t you present some figures so prove their unity. But I guess you might not, so let me enlighten you once again. Frankly speaking WI haven’t played much matches without lara to prove any point. SInce his arrival in international arena, they have played 140 matches. Lara has played 115 of them. Immediately after his debut with Pakistan in 1991, lara missed 10 test matches. These matches were against Australia and england and with players like haynes, greenidge, richards, richardson, logie and hooper in the side, it was understandable that he missed those matches. The other matches or series which lara has missed were against :
2 testseries against Zimbabwe, both won
1 test series against Bangladesh, won (obviously)
1 test seriesagainst India (lost)
2 test series against pakistan. won 1, lost 1. They were lost in UAE pretty badly against us and managed a victroy thanks to controversial umpiring in 2000 at home ground, when pakistan was about to ruin their all time winning record in WI against us.

I guess, he will just have to wait till the tests to see the butchering.

i would like to see teams like india and windies for instance have some bottle and actually admit when they drop their star players. clearly lara was out of form in the ODI series against south africa. wat is the point in saying he is being 'rested'. by resting the form doesn't automatically come back, u need to have a feel of it by playing more and more cricket.

The way Lara played in the first test against Pakistan, it lookslike the rest did him good.
If only Pakistan had rested most of their team...
I believe Australia have the right idea about having a one-day and test squad.
