british's occupation was illegal so how can anyoe justify they leasing the land to these powerful among their own people but british stooge landlords....... face it 100 acres of land used to be leased on 1 rupee and arrangement was that landlords will collect tax and deposit it to british........... if u thik this is legal then u can very well bring back the british rule again even that will be legal
Totally wrong ! Can you support your claim ? and what about those who purchased it from them ........? meaning once they were feudals but then they purchased it from the british then ?
Very true so if we go back n further back we ll find feudals made by Moghuls, Tughlaks, Khilgis, Saadaats, Loodis.......n eventually by hindu Rulers as well
So land reforms should be implemented on all of them .....
Yes those land lords also who were made by hindus bcz if we go back more n deep into history well find that hindus also came here the same way the Muslims came ......So they also used the same principle which every other ruler uses...........for the record only Shooders...r real Indians.....
but point is whoever did this it can;t be justified........** land must be distributed among everyone** whoever cultivated the land on behalf of those landlords should get the land......... who are theselandlords to dictate poor citizens life just because they did yester-year rulers bidding and got those land virtually free of cost doesn;t make them owner of those lands....
Brother 100% correct but to do this one should not snatch some1 property on this ground that your gr8 gr8 grand father was wrong n he helped the british so you go to hell.......This Approach is wrong ......We can purchase it from them Purchasing is not actually Land Reforms it more like a Settlement .....
Sikh villages in West Punjab were mostly in the areas from Lahore , Sheikhupura to Pindi along GT road. Now tell me if Noons, or Tiwanas, or any big land lord comes from this area? Oh well, a poor Bihari would not know such details about the richest state in the whole region.
The highest percentage of Sikhs in any of these West Punjab areas wasn’t more than 18%. Down in the Southern Punjab, the ratio was even lower like 1-2%. Sikh villages were few and far between.
However the East Punjab Muslims dominated the agri areas. So the net loss of land was by Punjabi-Muslims and not the other way around.
Non-Muslim loss of property in the West Punjab was mostly concentrated in the big cities like Montgomery (now Sahiwal), Layallpur (now Faisalabad), and Lahore. Big cities concentrations of non-Muslims meant their loss was non-agri holdings such as homes and businesses.
Your use of curse words about Punjabis simply shows poor upbringing of Bihari Rubri Devi. Sad and truly pathetic.
Secondly , i myself am in favour of Land Reforms , but i think they land should not be snatched from them it, but it should be purchased…an option should be given to them , afterall they r also part of this country n not all r evil …you will find good ones too …they may b very few …but in every system u ll find less good ppl, whether it b landlords or any1…
an option in which atleast 125% of the actual market price should be given …then there would be no need to force it a gr8 will majority will avail it…n the ones who dont avail it. Dont force them…i think those would b fools…n future ceilings can be made so that cant enhance thier estates…
Let me add one more thing ........the British wanted to give the title .....Sir....
to Quaid e Azam , but he declined it.......
n with title.... Sir .......jagirs r also bestowed........but he declined........
it shows one more thing that british way to gave lands is not just tht wat ppl think .....some good ppl also get it........like Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Dept. Nazir Ahmed.....etc
^^ “Land reforms” slogan is just a sham. If you really want to reform the rural areas, update the tax system. Bring in some real "economic reforms".
Our land owners are taxed under the most ancient and archaic system one can ever imagine. They have to pay Abiyana, Maliya, excise, sales and God-awful illegal taxes to the Kanoongos, Gardawars, and above all the “taxing beast” called Patwari.
For crying out loud, we live in 21st century and yet rely on 18th century tax system. Our agri-land maps are still on "latha" cloth (a type of cotton cloth). Why not bring GPS based mapping to our rural areas? Give jobs to young people carrying laptops and GPS receivers instead of bickering about kommie ideas.
No need to snatch or "buy" land from anyone. Let them grow even bigger. Ask them to float their shares in Karachi stock exchange. Put bankers and modern MBAs on their boards. Attach "corporate-ization" as a prerequisite to getting big loans and state subsidies.
Ultimately allow all the land holdings in a state to large "agri-companies" numbering in the range of 5 to 20. Everyone else should work as an employee of these companies. Give these companies access to modern genetic engineering research through Faisalabad Agri Univ.
That is the only way forward for us to provide food to our nation and others beyond our boundaries. Talking about land reforms is simply a Kommie-Bihari ploy of creating anarchy in the society.
You guys are making it sound as if land-reform snatches land from lanlord and leaves them as paupers....... In India the land ceileing in my home state Bihar is 20 acre per family now this is a lot of land ...... landlords used to have thousands of acres of land I just can't buy the argument that they earned hose land they just misused the exploiataive system in place and got hold of that land on paltry sum.....
just recently in Karanataka there was uproar on the issue of around 100 acre of land leased to some anjuman organisation by british for total sum of 1 rs ... landlords were created by mansabdari and jamindari process... no landlords had to pay anything other than the token amount they only have to collect food-grains from poor pessant who did cultivation on behalf of these landlords and then they gave a fixed percentage of that to british or mushals ro whoever were in power.............. now in free india or pakistan those landlords claim those lands are theirs whihc is totally bakwaas........
I come from a landlord family and believe me I know it inside out howthose lands were acquired....... u can't acquire thousands of acres of land by fair means it's just not possible.........
Gungal Din, You don’t get it do you? Do you put limit at the Azim PremJi or Tata family wealth? Limit it to $20,000 and take the rest of it for Bihari paupers.
In any case, A bihahri landlord. What an oxymoron.
hahaha
p.s. If we wanted Bihari shenagans like land reforms, we would have stayed with Bharati Matha instead of cutting it up. Kapeesh?
I don't know about India but in Bhutto's time .....it was like tht .....no compensations were given........

Organisation n indivedual are two different things. Secondly, Can give us more details about this?

Totaly wrong........Lands were given on lease .....max period was 99 years....
My friend's grand pa purchased their villages from Govt. Of Pakistan .....it took about 10 years bcz it was on lease it was not their property......n we know them .......kafi achi terhaan

OK your grand fathers must have done somethings like that
Their were good ppl as well like Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Khan Bahadur Deputy Nazir Ahmed
In India they certainly compensate the landlords for the lands which they illegalacqwuired from the illegal rulers of yeste-year india.........
Just becasue Siayad Ahmed Khan started pakistan movement doesn;t mean his family had acquired those lands by breaking stones in hot sun.. when u have thousands of acres of land it invariably withuout any excpetion means u used illegal means and services renderd to illegal and autocratic rulers .. there is no justification for this to continue in democratic society based on public welfare................ moreover nobody needs thousands of acres of land and noone can manage it properly unless they have battery of bonded labourers whihc is so rampant in tribal belt again.......
Azim premji does legal business hasn;t acquired that wealth by bribing british rulers and moreover Azim premji's give employment to lakhs of people andf pay them as much as they deserve as opposed to these illegal landlords who indulge in bonded labourer practice orat best pay below minimum wage since they love to sit on their $orry a$$ and live off someone else's sweat...... Azim premji;s of this world hardly ever sleeps works 18 hours a day..........they share their wealth generated by their employees among their employees as opposed to these stinky landlords who throw crumbs at workers just enough that they can be alive and keep doing their dirty work.......
U guys lack knowledge of history: bihar was under jamindari system as opposed to other states which was under mansabdari system so it's not surprisingthat bihar had big landlords, few exist even today......
those drivel on Bihar akin to illiterats doesn't deserve any response so I will let go that part.........
buddy it's not what u wanted it's what those landless poor want and they are large in number and sooner or later either u will have to bow to their demands or face another disruption...........
Oh Baboo Raam. We know Bihar is the poorest and the most wretched state in the whole of the subcontinent. It has always been and it will always be until there is a 180 degree shift in Bihari mindset.
Dirt poor Biharis have consistently delved into class and religious warfare. Runbir Sena is the one shiny example that all the Biharis should be proud off.
Now we have the famine-stricken, cotton pick’n, Biharis telling the rest of the subcontinent how to manage agri-land. hahaha. What a joke.
So Bribing American masters makes his business halaal? ha!
p.s. landlord or no lord, urban areas always pay more compared to rural areas. That is why the whole world shows a trend of people migrating from rural to urban areas. Picking on landowners is typical of Bihari show-shaw-lists (socialists and kommies).

He doesn't bribe buddy and yes tell those landlords to compensate the labourers and manage their lands properly noone will complain....... hardly any of those thousand acre landlords cultivate all thei land many part are left unused but they must have the control in their hand..........
In fact tea industry doesn;t have land ceiling in India reason they are organized and don't exploit their workers and live off them them while themselves sititng on their fat ar$e............l

Bihar used to be one of the top agrisultural state till 60's and I can bet eventoday it's better than most of pakistan..... anyway point is not what bihari want point is what baluchi sindhi punjabi poor landless labouruer who are in oerwhemling majority want..
Look you are shouting at the top of your lungs that you are Bihari. You take care of Rubeer Sena, and we’ll take care of the Bugtis.
And don’t drag Punjab or other states down to the level of wretched famine stricken Bihar a la Rubri a la Rubeen Sena. Go back to dirt swath you call Bihar and help those Bihari bhikaris.
