Re: Breaking News: Paramilitary Police clash with Lal Mosque idiots!
Now that I have all the cyber-terrorists riled-up(or as antiobl would call em, matoos with mAIDS virus), I would like to say that I hope the government knows what its doing right now. To me, it looks as if the government is crossing its fingers and hoping that the militants inside would crack under pressure and the government would just have to clean up the mess left because of their in-fighting. If that doesn't happen, which I'm pretty sure it won't, the government would lose A LOT of support for wasting so much time and eventually fully raiding the mosque anyways. There is bound to be collateral damage and I would rather have it now than later.
who died and made you a military strategist? How many times have you been under siege with all utilities cut off, your ammo depleted, food supplies depleted, your leader abandoned you, your mates killed, intermittent firing all day and all night and virtually no hope of escape?
It is a shame really for all the calls for action on gs, as if it is a game.

Inaction has really done wonders for Pakistan over the past 2 decades right?

You are right: Siege is old military strategy that works. Keep people under siege guessing when raid would come and expecting raid anytime means tension and frustration. Believing that it might come after long time mean preservation of provisions and suffering. Thoughts of raid and death after raid could make many go berserk. Death is diferent if it comes abruptly. Slowly, people must be getting exhausted inside and must be thinking to give up. Longer the siege, easier it would be to finish the job without much loss of lives. If siege would stay indefinitely (until they surrender), time would come that people under siege would have no option other than surrendering.
Only proplem with indefinite siege in Pakistan case is that, Pakistan has many retarded so-called ulemas, many retards in opposition, and many retards are there in government too, like Ejaz-ul-Haq and Chauhdary Shujaat. These people must be trying their best to get some relief and concession for people under siege and as time passes, their effort must be getting somewhere, and that is the biggest problem. It is their efforts and pressure on government, that might push government to get the job done as quickly, resulting in some casualties.

No one made me a military strategist, nor do you need to be one when there is a HOSTAGE TAKING situation in place.
There aren't many mass hostage taking situations involving Islamic radicals in the past where the authorities have succeeded through attrition. Yes, in an ideal world, no one but the baddies would die but this isn't how it happens on most occasions. These brain washed terrorists/militants would much rather die guns a blazin since I'm pretty sure these aren't the students that have surrendered in the past.
To me, everything from the lack of action in the past 6 months against these people to this prolonged siege suggests that the government is absolutely stuck on not painting a bad, dictator-esque image of itself. That is a fair strategy, one which has worked so far if the praises from leaders across the world hold any weight, until you start looking ridiculous and I'm afraid that is what might happen if this situation doesn't end in the next couple of days.
Re: Breaking News: Paramilitary Police clash with Lal Mosque idiots!
I'm Kool, you seem to have very little understanding of Pakistani politics and current state of affairs. I dont want a shooting match so I wont respond any further.
Re: Breaking News: Paramilitary Police clash with Lal Mosque idiots!
This guy Talat asked some govt. official "what's the legal basis for this action".
Either:
a. this guy is an arm chair intellect or a semantics fiddler and doesn't get out much.
b. Is an idiot.
c. All of the above.
I say, it's 'c'.
Considering the amount of ridiculously stupid stuff he has said recently, I'd say option "c" is as safe as any.

Just think. Pakistan is changing their forces there every day with fresh one. What is the problem outside? Inside siege, things are much different. They have nothing to cook with (no gas, no electricity, no wood, no coal), nor do they have unlimited supply of water and food. They do not have access to medicine and now would not have any connection from outside world. So, what you think? How long they would resist surrendering? How long they could last without food and water?
I believe that only problem is their retarded supporters outside, who are making life of government difficult and pushing them to act soon. Else, in present situation, the strategy of siege indefinitely is best. People inside are well armed and possibly war hardened (in Afghanistan) and brainwashed to die, thus raid would mean casualties of innocent hostages inside as well as of military personals.
