And people think the government needs to continue negotiations with these people and let them walk free??? Every person who threw a rock or tried to destroy the school property should be rotting in jail.

they were actually throwing stones at the Rangers who had taken positions in the school. Not that it should make it any better, these guys were just looking for an excuse to cause havoc.
Lal Masjid or anywhere else, most the people who engage in this destructive behavior are usually teenagers, who under the influence of their hormones are violence happy. This can be observed all over Pakistan on occasions of non religious violence also. However, you expect better from religious people, that they would able to discipline these raging teenagers instead of making it worse. Unfortunately for us, the religious leadership has decided to exploit the teenage energy for their own evil purposes.

PESHAWAR: Three Chinese nationals were shot dead late Sunday by unidentified gunmen at their residence in Pakistan’s northwestern provincial capital of Peshawar, police said.
A fourth Chinese living in the same house on the outskirts of the city was

Talat and Nusrat on AAJ TV grilling Durrani (Information Minister) for not having structured dialogue with the negotiators. They are forgetting that a structured dialogue is used (if at all) when you have a situation where the captors are explicit in their demands and open about the hostage situation. This is an incident where a confinement of the Lal-Masjid transgression (Rangers' deployment) evolved into a hostage crisis (captors holding hostages after seeing that msot people were fleeing). To this minute, they are not admitting that it is a clear hostage situation and want their terrorists to go free. Talat is not doing the Nation any favors right now.

Talat Hussein is unable to understand the difference between a 'Die Hard' hostage situation and the current Lal Masjid crisis. He wanted a Hollywood style negotiations followed by arrest of the captors. He really is being an ass. Looks like after goign home last night he has been watching hostage movies and now want to use some of those tricks.

Obviously, once permission is given, SSG would chose there own appropriate time tonight, and I hope that InshaAllah it should finish by fajar time. That is what I believe. It would be disappointing if this would last another day.

don't think any of our journalists have ever done round the clock coverage of a hostage situation with terrorists....
so there are gonna be mis-steps
although this is good that our journalists are getting such an experience
this will make them better in the long run and for average pakistanis much more better coverage

they do need to study why adopting the line that there will be no negotiations with hostage takers is better in the long run although it may result in some losses in any given operation. Let them go free, and watch them try the same elsewhere!

Extremely bad timign by Talat to up his journalistic credentials. He's now claiming that if this operation results in innocent deaths, it will chagne hte political and societal landscape of Pakistan..... Yes this will happen, if he keeps inciting controversy like he is right now --- he knows the Govt. intentiosn were noble, he knows that they tried their best (and still will) to save as many lives as they can, and yet he will go on to incite controversy......
We talk about how evil of ratings considerations have corrupted the American media. Pakistani media are still in honeymoon period after getting their freedoms, as the competition gets tough, watch how corrupt these guys become!
