I have 2 yr old twins, I am lucky if I sleep for 4 hours uninterrupted. I am waiting for my parents or inlaws to visit because the day they get here I am putting in earplugs and sleeping for as long as possible..maybe even a weekend long hibernation.
bte 17 hr prediction is based on the build up of troops, placement of snipers, the rather unusual movements of armoured cars. the increase in the frequency of the mysterious blasts and now lower sound blasts..
its about to happen, the question is do they go in broad day light or do they go in the cover of dark.
there will a handful of pressure build up, and then whenh you least expect it..the pressure build up will not ease but morph into a full scale assult and incursion.
I just hope I am awake when that happens.

I am really concerned that when they come close to defeat, the holed up militants might blow up the whole place with hopes of Pak army getting the blame for it.

By the way, it took SSG so much effort to create breaches int he walls cuz they were 2 ft thick. Walls that thick have no place in residential areas, and I know from first hand experience that this is a common practice in Madarassah construction. Govt. should do something about enforcing building codes. at least int he case of Madarrsahs.

well that is what the militants may be thinking as well
i.e. they need to get organized and they need cover of dark and they need curfew
now that the military zone has been expanded and you have rings of forces around teh place and snipers in high positions it is very likely that this happens in broad daylight and during non curfew hours, at a time when militants are emboldened and a little lax. even a little bit of confusion on militants' part is a tool that SSG will exploit.
while they may get a second in command take over or a diff commander..these groups are set up in a way that they can operate if some top brass is taken out.
all preps are for a showdown in the next day, the commanding officer issue may hamper stuff but at the same time it may not.

I also find it disturbing that in six days of activities, the only person we have lost is the person who was commanding the whole operation! How fked up is that!

Nobody in Pakistan names their girls Umme fallan (not withstanding that you need to become a mother before you become 'UMM' ). Her current name indicates her fascination with everythign Arabic, and her probable delusions of being a 'Mujahidah' --- probably couldn't control her jihad fetishes and incited this movement that has put the whole country in trouble. Damn woman!

the army in 1990-91 gave similar type of treatment to mqm...orders were to 'shoot on sight' at that time...thats why the karachiites are breathing a 'relatively free' air these days....unfortunately mqm has tremendous support of the present establishment....we hav seen it on may 12.....otherwise believe me they are no less than these mullahs...
