Re: Lahore

Does anyone have a map of Lahore where everything is with respect to everywhere else?

Re: Lahore

The whole city isnt safe anymore. There is no way you can walk alone at nights anywhere in Lahore.

Re: Lahore

What Lahore did you go to mate? I never had any problems there anytime of day or night.

Re: Lahore

BTW

Here is detailed map (ignore the big words like Gulburg Town & Iqbal Town etc) - look for small words with numbers on top of them. Regards

Re: Lahore

Last year i was standing with my cousin near his house in Iqbal town, 2 guys came up on a bike, 1 guy slapped my cousin, took our cellphones n wallet at gunpoint while the neighbours were watching and off they went.

aur haan, yeh 2pm ka waqia hai.

Re: Lahore

I haven't seen Bahria Town Lahore but have seen Bahria Town in Rawalpindi. Although locationwise Bahria is not the best place to buy, their quality is better than most of the other schemes in Pakistan, plus you get the plots at a reasonable price as opposed to Defence. I can see Bahria becoming very popular in 5-10 years when these locations become developed. I would estimate that in phase 1-9 Bahria has about 40,000 plots. The newer phases such as 8 and 9 are massive compared to earlier phases. I have been told that they also have large quantities of land nearby.

I think they are doing more than any other developer to regenerate the housing stock of Pakistan, besides doing much to fulfill the reported shortage of 6 million houses in Pakistan, they have raised the bar for other developers.

Re: Lahore

Been there when I was in Pak in Dec 05. It didn't seem that bad. Ofcourse it was still not complete. I guess we'll just have to wait and see once people start residing there.

Re: Lahore

I just had a look at google earth and Faisal town seems to be a very developed area, so I don't think I would find anything there at a reasonable price. I would need to sell my apartment in London to buy there.

I think I am going to have to compromise on being close to the city and the price. The pace at which Pakistan cities are growing in a few years time the locations could become more lively.

Re: Lahore

so thats why you suggesting iqbal town for him?

generally Lahore is safe place to live day and night aprt from any deserted place that may attract people like this.

If you want to buy and live there. I dont know why people gone crazy to be near to airport and border of india. airport means noise in long run!

We have been looking to move from our old house, after much survey of all possibilites.
We liked Valencia , Wapda Town and few adjacent places. Ended up building new pad there. nearly finished now.

property prices are down these days so its good time to buy.

Re: Lahore

I loved iqbal town, the people there, the markets, parks, etc. An ideal place.
Street crime is very common is Lahore, most of which does'nt even get reported in police station especially when the police is so not co-operative.
Lahore is the best city, bas thora ehtiyaat zaroori hai.
