Basant Night

[thumb=E]basantnight20317058_4962857.JPG[/thumb]

It is the night before the Basant day. People decorate their roof tops with lighting arrangements, Barbecue, sound systems and loads of Gudda n Dour

The sky is lit-up with high intensity lights so that there is no difficuty in flying a kite and seeing it properly. Most of the kites are of white color for more visibility.

The fun begins shortly after sunset and goes till late at night.

** Basant Day**

The day starts slowly but at noon it gets in full swing. People are ready for some real action. :roman:

Party at one roof top is ready for a * Paicha* (the dual of two kites)
with all their buddies ready hooting and dance on drum beat if they are the winner in that paicha.

The mere sight of this tussle is so amuzing for onlooker :smiley: immagine how much fun it would be if you are a part of it.

The food and dance and and kite flying goes all day long. In the afternoon, people fly huge kites starting from sizes of 5x5 ft and it goes to 10x10 ft or even bigger.Flying these gaint kites is quite a serious business. If the wind is blowing then holding these kites requires a lot of power.

Basant Evening and Fireworks

The sky is filled with colors and gaint kites till the sunset. After the sunset the bonanza of firework begins from all corners of the city. It is a sight to watch. somewhere you can see mini hot air baloon. They are called Qandeel(lamps). They are light weight and go up like a baloon.

Then at night this extravaganza ends after about 20 hours of fun :slight_smile:

oh wow… Amazing pictures yaar :k:
