8 days for FL or Caribbean (if visiting 1 single place) sounds like a lot to me but yes, that sounds like a plan. My husband and I took a cruise a few years ago that was 1 week…Cruise went to St. Thomas, Turks/Caicos, and Puerto Rico. If you/fiance have weekends off, and if you two can manage to take 1 week (Mon-Fri) off, that’s plenty of time for a nice/relaxing trip.

We’re debating between those locations for our honeymoon but reviews are all over the place! Did you like one in particular?

But you must keep in mind that most people aren’t in a situation where BOTH people are dealing with the joys of becoming a M.D. And often when people still studying can manage lavish honeymoons right after wedding, its usually being paid for by parents. Do what works for YOU and your specific situation. As long as you two are happy and stress-free (as much as possible)…that’s what truly matters.

My honeymoon was only 8 days long in st. lucia but it was still fun. I only took 2 weeks off from work for wedding honeymoon so we were pressed for time as well. If you take a ‘honeymoon’ 2 years after your marriage it’s pretty much just a vacation. Personally I think a honeymoon right after the wedding is just a really nice start, even if it’s not for long or to the most exotic location you can think of, I still look back on mine with a lot of fondness. I spent way more time planning the honeymoon than the wedding anyways, and it was more fun!

How’d you like St. Lucia? We’re looking at some of the resorts there but theyre a little pricey. Where’d you stay if you don’t mind me asking!
