One way around it is for both families to meet up before hand?
A lad can ask for marriage froma girls family directly should he wish to. According to Sharia law the guardians of the respective prospector should go first to discuss the rishta. However in some cases the poor fellow can ask directly.
It is not un-Islamic for a lad to express his desire to marry someones daughter by asking the girl himself. In fact the lad and girl can talk with each other so long as the parents or siblings are present to ensure nothing untoward happens.
I'm not a Moulavi, but i do know my Islamic studies. In fact cases have emegred in Islamic history when a simmilar situation has occured. For example there is a hadith which reonates a story straight out of Romeo and Juliet.
Basically there was a dispute between two clans. The son of one party wished to Marry the daughter of the other side. The Children knew each other and so did the Families. However the parents were not going to allow the marraige to take place becuase of pressure from the rest of the clan.
So Prophet Muhammad May grace and peace of Allah be upon him asked the two families why they were not allowing the two parties to marry. The parents had no personall quarrels but becuase of tribal pressure they could not agree so Rasoolalah interceded and arranged the wedding himself.
Rasoolalah asked the boys family if they were happy with the girl and did the same with the other party. Then the two tribes were summoned. Rasoolalah made the men promise to stop fighting.
This is where we also get the tradition of Bahi-Chara in which the groom is given "brothers" who will help him in future.
As long as you stay within the limits contact between the prospective families is not exactly un-Islamic. In fact you should marry from those who you know well. What's the point of marrying with complete strangers?
Marry among those you know well to be good friends, that lessens the chances of dhokha.

as for chamcha waving i am a soldierly fellow so as we all know soldiers always interfere in other peoples handiyah it’s not thier fault they can’t help it…
