Our KK has this whole display area with glass windows where while you are waiting in the Q to order your donut, you can actually view how the dounts are being made and when they go over the belt and come out freshly made the chick glazes 'em and hands out samples to all the ppl standing in the Q, i get my sample, wait for the chick to turn around and then walk out the door.
We used to have several KK's near our apartment. I used to walk by them everyday but never in 5 years bought one or tasted one. I have a food issue. As for the alcohol, it probably gets evaporated in the process of making the donut. Isn't Listerine mostly alcohol? Is that haraam?
Here is what krispy kreme has to say about alcohol contents in its donuts:

Only Krispy Kreme’s Glazed Doughnuts Contain Alcohol in Flavourings(November](http://(november/) 18, 2002) It was previously reported](http://www.eat-halal.com/updates/2002.shtml#krispykreme) that Krispy Kreme doughnuts contained alcohol in the flavourings, but no specific variety was mentioned. eat-halal.com has now learned that only Krispy Kreme’s glazed doughnuts contain alcohol in the flavourings. This means that Krispy Kreme’s glaze-free doughnuts such as the iced and powdered varieties do not contain any alcohol in their flavourings. However, some of the glaze-free doughnuts contain whey, and the source of the rennet used in the production of the whey remains to be researched.
