Second of all, Kramer might or might not be racist. This thing has been blown out of proportions for a guy who is not even that famous. Look what Mel Gibson did and the furor it created. This is all hypocritical. They make fun of Jesus as if it was their property or something yet you can’t make fun of a black man? These white dudes get called “crackers” by the black folks where I am. Does that mean we need to start persecuting everyone who goes on a rage at being insulted and start jumping 
. People need to start acting non hypocritical and over judgemental. IT is life.

One of the men who was the object of Richard’s tirade was outraged, shouting back “That’'s un-f***ing called for, ain’t necessary.”
After the three minute tirade, it appears the majority of the audience members got up and left in disgust.
Attempts to reach Richard’s reps were unsuccessful.

It is sad/funny to see how masterfully the guy played Kramer when even when hes being earnest he looks like the character. I think the audience (and myself to be honest) were laughing cause it seemed like Kramer had made a mistake and was apologising.
hes been in trouble before about anti-semetism, so he probably isnt a jew himself (or he'd use that as a defence)

I think the point most are missing is that Seinfeld , the show spearheaded the political incorrectness, self centered misanthropic libertarian bent that most of the shows started taking as the dangerous cutting edge risque alternative to the liberal media enterprises( prior of coarse to the FOX news and the BUSH regime take over)...

Can't believe people can find justification for this. He might be angry but no non-racist man will blurt out such crap out of nowhere. He obviously had this in the back of his mind thus it came out so easily. Anyone who took his apology as sincere is extremely naive.
And btw, people on Letterman weren't laughing on purpose. They didn't know what the heck he was talking about so they thought his apology was part of an act or something so they laughed along.

I dont know about this whole racist/jewish thing. After seeing the video of the big event, I really think he would have gone off-the-wall wacko at anyone who gave him trouble. I dont think it was because they were black particularly...ie., if it were spanish people, he'd have gone for the most insulting spanish insults he could come up I think. He just seemed so unbalanced and ready for a good rage.
In either case, it doesnt matter all too much really. The guy ruined his career in 90 seconds flat. He's done, kaput, finito.

Which would still make him a racist. Even at my peak anger, my first thought isn't to spew racist hatred against anyone. If anyone does that than it certainly tells you something about their mindset.

^If these victims are ethical people they shouldn't be able to be paid off like this with a lawsuit. This is obviously their big chance to gain a lot of money.
I can't believe they're trying to make money off of something like this! At the end of the day these people are complete unethical jerks and Kramer is a complete racist. the media is having a really fun time trying to give this more publicity than it deserves.
There were other people in the comedy club that day, why doesn't even one reporter get a full story now that it's reached the lawsuit stage.
