i think its more of a cultural thing that desis tend to have more sharam and haya. i would never do that in front of my parents or anyone desi. as modern as they can be, you never know who might take it the wrong way. holding hands is ok, when i see couples doing it, i go awwww.. but kissing i guess would be a lil too much.
