why do pageant kids have to have fake hair, makeup, nails etc? why can’t they look like natural little kids?

There is a need for weight management in sports like figure skating, gymnastics even in wrestling for boys.

I don’t know much about the child pageant world but are the clothes provocative or just fancy?
